Traffic Stops
In America Over 20 Million traffic stops happen per year. It is the
most common interaction that takes place between law
enforcement and the public. Making this the most threatening
situation for patrol officers. In more recent years it has also
become, anxiety driven and dangerous for drivers as well. Over
the course of several years research has been conducted to
assess the different types of incidents that are happening prior,
during and post traffic stops.

What is a traffic
Stop?
A traffic Stop is a situation where a Police officer
observes probable Cause or reasonable suspicion
associated with you or your vehicle and initiates as
investigation. Under the law once stopped you are
considered detained during the investigation until the
officer determines the outcome. Due to the nature of a
routine stop you are not under arrest and the officer is
not required to read you a Miranda Warning.
