The remaining coronavirus rules in England will end on 16 August for fully- vaccinated people and under 18s, who will no longer have to self-isolate if they come into contact with a positive case. Instead, they will be encouraged to take a PCR test. Those not fully vaccinated will still need to isolate if they are contacts, and everyone will still have to isolate if they test positive, to protect themselves and others. The government will maintain support for self-isolation, with practical and financial support available until the end of September. After an extremely tough year for our high streets, the team at Your Acton BID is offering all businesses within the BID area free sessions led by cost- saving experts Place Support Partnership (PSP), to reveal ways to reduce business costs and save money. To help reduce your business costs, PSP will review your bills and identify where savings can be made. It is a free service to all Your Acton BID members. In the last few weeks, we visited several businesses along the High Street, Churchfield Road, and the South Acton Industrial Estate where we were able to help save businesses a total of £29,872. A single business (Magnus Burger on High Street) was able to realise over £7,799 annually in savings on their energy cost. If you are interested and want to save money, please email us at info@youractonbid.co.uk to book an appointment with a PSP representative. They will next be in Acton on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August. https://youractonbid.co.uk/civicrm/mailing/view?reset=1&id=12&cid=5&cs=0c793edf8268b13dac87dbd616dc8909_1628678705_168 2/9

16/08/2021 Your Acton BID August Newsletter Free Rapid Tests Rapid testing kits that take less than 30 minutes can be picked up at local libraries, as well as pharmacies across the borough. Residents and workers should get tested regularly as it is the best way of knowing if you are carrying COVID-19 without displaying symptoms. You can access your free rapid testing in Acton at: Acton Everyday Leisure Centre – High St, London W3 6NE Wellcare Pharmacy, 155 High Street, Acton, W3 6LP You can also get a rapid test by ordering the at-home test kits from the government website. Make sure you report crime and ASB issues in our Town Centre! Feedback from some of the discussions suggests that some businesses feel it is pointless reporting ASB and crime issues. We strongly urge businesses to report all incidences of ASB and crime, immediately as they occur. Without these reports and documented evidence of criminal activity, the police cannot identify the monitoring requirements or allocate resources to deal with the issues. Here below is how you can report any ASB and crime issues online or by telephone: https://youractonbid.co.uk/civicrm/mailing/view?reset=1&id=12&cid=5&cs=0c793edf8268b13dac87dbd616dc8909_1628678705_168 6/9
