Internationalization Strengthening R&I capacity through Internationalization Team up with large infrastructures, eg. EIROFORUM: CERN, EMBL, EMBO, ESA…. Joining international research projects opens possibility of transferring knowledge, accessing new technologies, networking, boosting participation in the EU H2020 program, starting new companies important for all countries but small countries don’t even have an alternative full membership International networking
Montenegro on International Map Team up with large infrastructures eg. CERN, EMBL, EMBO, …. Montenegro member of CMS/CERN since 2017
Internationalization We need to train our young people in the best environment Montenegro on Strengthening R&I international capacity through scientific map internationalization CMS team of young people Young people interested to collaborate with EMBL and EMBO
Teaming up with international teams - Mobility Bilateral Agreements (presently running projects)

South East European International Institute for Sustainable Technologies (SEEIIST, http://seeiist.eu) About 500 patients per year to be treated as needed for a population of 20M. In parallel, 50% of the beam time dedicated to biomedical research with multi-ion sources beyond presently used proton and carbon-ions making the SEEIIST project unique in the world Example: HIT Heidelberg Candidates Members for the SEEIIST: DoI signed by eight parties: Albania, Bosnian and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kosovo*, The FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. Croatia agreed ‘ad referendum’, Greece is presently an observer
Core of the SEEIIST: Facility for Tumour Therapy and Biomedical Research with Protons and Heavier Ions Time line of the SEEIIST Project 2019: 2028: Start of the Design Study Phase First patient treatments Application for Design-Study- Call INFRADEV-01-2019-2020 2020/21: Selection of the site Application for the ESFRI Road Map 2023: Start construction of the Facility 2017-2018: For SEEIIST up to 200 MEUR required, guaranteeing Concept Studies competitivity in Europe. Multiple sources of financing necessary: EU Structural and cohesion funds, IPA funds, some contributions from member-states, other funds We also hope for the support by the Berlin Process
