Reopening UDON THANI Safety Plan 2021-2022

Guiding Principles We aim to create a safe, controlled learning environment for our students as they learn each day. While on-campus, ICS will continue to prioritize the prevention methods of social distancing, mask wearing, and increased handwashing. Additionally, our goal is to be proactive in identifying COVID-19 patients within our community and then quickly identifying those most at risk. Our continued focus will be to keep our campus safe, healthy and controlled. 1
Safety Protocols for Re-Opening of the Campus Preventative Measures Being Taken to Return to School 1 Over 94% of teachers/staff are fully vaccinated. 2 Classrooms are set up to minimize the impact of one positive COVID case with students being at least 1-2 meters apart. 3 Accurate seating charts are used for all classes in order to identify at-risk students in a timely manner. 4 Classrooms and high-traffic areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly by PCS. 5 100% of the classrooms have air purifiers in the room with filters to help remove particles from the air. Classroom doors are also kept open between class changes. 6 Students/teachers must wear masks at all times while indoors. Acceptable masks are 2-ply medical or cloth and must be well fitted and worn effectively over the nose and mouth. Buffs or masks with vents are not permitted 7 PE classes take place in open-air environments and students stay distanced as much as possible. 8 Touch-free water bottle filling stations are in place and students are expected to have a water bottle. 9 Stairwells are divided with tape/paint in order to create two way walking corridors. 10 Signage is posted throughout the school to remind students of: • wearing face masks • keeping socially distant • washing hands properly for 20 seconds • coughing into elbow or tissue 11 If there are COVID concerns within our teacher/staff/student community, a partnership with Bangkok Hospital has been established, if needed, to provide the appropriate care and facilities. 2
Reporting Forms for Staff and Students All students, teachers and staff must take an Antigen Test Kit (ATK) and report a negative 1 result in order to come to school ATKs must be Thai FDA-approved and have the stamp shown below. Here is a list of acceptable ATKs from the Thai FDA. (ATKs available at most stores are FDA approved.) 2 Parents/Students are expected to use the Thai Save Thai app or pdf documents each day for each child. 3 Students are expected to keep a journal of where they have traveled each day. Antigen Test Kits (ATK) 1 ATKs will be required for every student each week. 50% of the student population will be tested on each Sunday and the other 50% will be tested on Tuesdays. This testing strategy covers every classroom in every grade across the entire school each week with 100% of students being tested over the course of each week in order to give an accurate assessment of possible cases within our community. If testing frequency needs to be adjusted, ICS will communicate accordingly. 2 ICS teachers and staff will take an ATK and submit the report weekly. 3 Student ATKs must be completed at home under the supervision of a parent or guardian. 4 Acknowledgement of a negative ATK is required in order to return to school. 5 If an ATK yields a positive result, it is expected that family would follow government requirements. 3
ATK Reporting Schedule: Group Number Test Day Student Last Name Group 1 Every Sunday Last name A-M Group 2 Every Tuesday Last name N-Z (refer to https://www.icsud.ac.th/covid19-resources for any updates) Access to Campus 1 There is a one-way entry and exit point at the front of the campus. 2 Everyone must wear masks when arriving at school and while on campus. 3 Everyone is expected to follow all social distancing regulations while on campus. There are markings all over campus to help with suggested distancing. 4 Students must enter through the front turnstiles and temperature scanners each morning. If a student’s temperature is 37.5 or higher, he/she will not be allowed to enter campus. 4
Elementary Recess 1 Students will be required to wear masks during recess unless they are doing strenuous activities. 2 Some playground structures may be closed off. 3 Students will remain outside during recess time, whenever possible. 4 All seating in common areas will be set up to allow for social distancing - 1-2 meters apart. Physical Education Class 1 Sports that require students to be apart from each other are highly encouraged. 2 Activities that are in outside spaces or open air gyms are highly encouraged. 3 Students are expected to wash their hands thoroughly before and after each class. Cafetorium 1 Epicure will follow all food preparation regulations required by law. 2 Each cafeteria has easy access to sinks and touch-free hand sanitizer stations. Students are expected to wash their hands thoroughly before meals. 3 Students are expected to remain 1-2 meters apart when lining up. 4 Seating has been rearranged to ensure social distance. 5 No student may share their food with another student. 6 Air purifiers/filters will be used within the cafetorium. 5
Fever or Other COVID symptoms 1 If a student develops a fever at home, parents will be required to keep their child at home for at least 48 hours. After the child's temperature has stayed normal for at least 24 consecutive hours without any medication for fever, the child may return to school. 2 If a student has any of the common COVID symptoms (fever, cough, tiredness, loss of taste/smell, sore throat, difficulty breathing, chest pain) they should not come to school and the student should take an ATK. 3 If a student develops a fever and/or other COVID symptoms during the school day, parents will be contacted and he/she will be sent home immediately. The student will be required to take an ATK. The ATK results should be submitted to the nurse within 24 hours. If the ATK is negative and there are no longer any symptoms, the student may return to school and check in with the nurse upon returning. 4 After any absence due to sickness, the student must go to the observation room at the start of the school day to be checked before entering the school. Further COVID Guidelines 1 Person with positive COVID test result- A person that has a positive ATK or RT-PCR test. 2 Person with direct contact- A person who has been in close contact (
Responding to Positive COVID tests and Contact The key to a safe learning environment at ICS is sharing needed information about test results and medical advice. ICS will consider this medical advice to individually approve the return to school plan. Generally, the student will stay away from school for 7 -14 days, and the adminis- tration will determine the exact time away using the following criteria. • Government regulations • Documentation of onset of symptoms, covid test results, vaccination status, history of previous COVID infections, or any combination of these. • Nature of exposure • Medical advice Student, parent, teacher, and staff responsibilities to contact with information or documentation: 1 Person with positive Covid test result a. If ATK test is positive, immediately inform ICS school nurse and get a RT-PCR test to confirm positive result within 24 hours. b. If RT-PCR test is positive, inform ICS within 24 hours. You will receive information about needed documentation. ICS will consider this documentation and inform you of the plan for return to school. c. If RT-PCR test is negative, inform ICS within 24 hours and provide documentation of the negative RT-PCR test result. ICS will approve return to school if there is no contradictory medical advice. 2 Person with direct contact (defined above) a. Direct contact at school/school event - ICS will contact immediately and inform the family of the number of days before returning to school. A negative ATK result will be required before a return to school. b. Direct contact, not school related - Parent should inform ICS within 24 hours and provide information and/or medical advice. ICS will consider this information and inform you of the plan for return to school. 3 Person with indirect contact Continue to come to school (Low risk). No information or documentation is required. Continue with the ICS ATK testing schedule. 7
