From the Principal’s Desk …. “Literacy in itself is no education and goal of education should be character building”. - Mahatma Gandhi. At Andhra Education Society (AES), it is a continuous endeavor to inculcate this inviolable and indisputable philosophy of developing courage, strength and virtue among its students. We try to provide our children an arena to think rationally and develop their own attitudes to follow various academic pursuits and learn not just education, but knowledge to become good citizens. We have a responsibility and commitment towards our children. We believe in imparting our best to our students for the overall development of one’s personality on multiple fronts, viz., academic excellence, love for art and culture, interest in sports activities etc. I am fortunate to be associated with this institution for over Twenty Three years and it has been truly an enriching experience for me. All along this journey, I have been associated and assisted by a team of very dedicated and efficient staff, who support me in my entire endeavor. I would also like to acknowledge the support extended by the Management in discharging my responsibilities. “Education is the ability to meet life’s situation”. – Dr.Johan G. Hibon. The World is dynamic and change is the eternal truth. With the changing face of education, the children today are more aware of the environment and much more focused in life. We can proudly say that our children possess strong determination to excel in life. I wish them good luck and am sure that they will set new goals in life and move forward with a smile on their face. K. Lakshmi Lalitha 4
About The Andhra Education Society’s High School & Junior College : The Andhra Education Society (AES), is a registered charitable organization founded in 1943 to promote Telugu language, culture and education including setting up of schools, colleges / institutions, etc. AES is a Linguistic Minority Institution and the affairs of the Society are run by The Board of Trustees and The Managing Council. AES having rolled out the first batch of SSC with Seven students in the year 1956, gradually strengthened its position as an Institution to reckon with. With this sound visibility, AES, having been guided by the vision of expanding the horizon, ventured into and started Junior College in the year 1975 with a modest number of Forty Six students, which, over the years multiplied manifold, justifiably a proud achievement! Thus, from a minuscule start up, AES has since grown to a sizeable institution providing education to nearly 4000 students spread over Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and Junior College. The institution has made significant contribution for the past 74 years since its inception and has earned a name for its high academic and disciplinary standards. Besides the theoretical knowledge that our students imbibe from our well-qualified and energetic faculty, they also receive sound practical training to support their knowledge. At AES Junior College students are encouraged to pursue their studies vigorously along with participation in a variety of extra- curricular, intellectual, cultural, sporting and community service activities. We are committed towards building a new generation of smart and sound individuals with honesty, sincerity, integrity and knowledge. 5
