Message from the
Theatre Manager
Over the past ten years, The Fugard has
become my second home, and being part
and parcel of its growth over the years has
been incredibly fulfilling and humbling.
Working with a deeply passionate team
has been a particular highlight for me.
Watching the building grow both physically
and in scale and quality of productions
continues to make me deeply proud to be
a part of this machine.

What Eric Abraham has enabled, and
continues to enable, through The Fugard
Theatre is unwavering, and is unlike
anything I have experienced or seen in
South African Theatre. His constant care
and support, not only financially, but in
kindness, common humanity and humility
has been a beacon of endless possibility. 2017 King Kong
I am humbled every day by what Eric has
made possible and how that possibility
continues to grow and empower not only
The Fugard staff, but every patron and
performer who walks through The Fugard’s
doors.

I am so very excited for our 2020 season,
the first season ever curated by our newly
appointed and first Artistic Director Greg
Karvellas whose artistic vision I find hugely
exciting and refreshing. I look forward to
making those visions come alive with Greg
and my Fugard family.
