zero-tolerance approach against racism and all forms of discrimination.
Accordingly, any form of discriminatory abuse whether it be based on race or ethnicity,
sexual orientation, gender, faith, age, ability or any other form of abuse will be reported

“The Alliance Leagues applaud the decision taken by the Premier League and EFL to
collectively support all players, managers and individuals who wish to take the knee

wish to make as a way of peacefully demonstrating against racism, discrimination and
injustice. Consequently, the Alliance Leagues have no objection to players, match
officials and technical area occupants taking the knee at their discretion. Home and away
clubs that wish to do so must notify their opponents and match officials as part of the
match confirmation process, and if players from one club do wish to take a knee their
opponents are under no obligation to do likewise.”

Horsham FC History
Horsham Football Club can trace its roots back to February 17th 1871, when it played its
inaugural match against Reigate. Records of those formative years are sparse but we do
know that the club’s existence largely depended upon enough players being available to
form a side and it wasn’t until the club reformed in 1881 that fixtures were played on a
more regular basis. For this reason, and by no means diminishing the efforts of those early
trailblazers, the club acknowledges 1881 as the year of its official formation.

In September 1882, the club helped found the Sussex County Football Association before
becoming became founder members of the West Sussex Senior League in 1896, winning
the championship in 1899/00, 1900/01 and 1901/02, and claiming the Royal Irish Rifles
Cup in 1900.

Having initially played at both Horsham Park and Springfield Meadow, the club secured
Queen Street as its permanent home in 1904 but some lean form over the ensuing years
saw Horsham overlooked when the Sussex County League was created in 1920 and it
wasn’t until their fourth West Sussex Senior League triumph in 1925/26 that they were
invited to make the step up.

The 1930s was a golden era for the club and the County League was won six times during
the decade, Horsham regularly scoring over one hundred goals a season. Cup competitions
provided more silverware with the Sussex RUR Cup (seven times) and the Sussex Senior
Cup (twice) both finding their way back to Queen Street before the outbreak of war.

When peace returned to the world, Horsham won the first post-war title in 1947, the RUR
Cup in 1946, 1949 and 1951, and the Sussex Senior Cup in 1950. In 1947/48 the club
reached the First Round of the FA Cup for the first time, taking a first minute lead against
Notts County before losing 9-1.

Having had successive applications to join the Athenian League rejected, the club changed
tack and successfully applied to become members of the Metropolitan & District League
that included the ’A’ sides of top Football League clubs, the reserve sides of ‘professional’
non-league clubs and a few amateur teams, with Horsham confounding common opinion
by winning the championship at the first attempt. However, over the years the league
became stronger and stronger and eventually the amateur clubs struggled to make any
impact at all and Horsham finished the 1956/57 season at the foot of the table, having
already decided to quit the league in favour of the Corinthian League where they began a
period of consistent progress, finishing thirteenth, ninth, eighth and fifth before their best
ever season in 1961/62 when third place was achieved.

Following a mass exodus of players, Horsham were forced to rebuild with a young, local
team that would peak at fourth place in 1964/65 only to become the first Horsham side
ever to be relegated the following season. Under coach Pat Tobin, the team was rebuilt
once more and this reaped dividends in 1966/67 when the club once again reached the
First Round of the FA Cup, with the visit of Swindon Town drawing a record 7,134 crowd
to Queen Street.

Despite this achievement this was a frustrating period of near misses for the club who
finished third, third and fifth and suffered three consecutive defeats in the final of the
Sussex Senior Cup. By now nicknamed the Hornets, following a supporters’ competition,
the club appointed Roy Osborne as their new manager and the change brought immediate
success with the championship of Division Two achieved in 1969/70, the Division One title
in 1972/73, and the Sussex Senior Cup in 1972.
Instead of taking their place in the Athenian League Premier Division, Horsham became
members of the Isthmian League when that competition expanded to two divisions in
1973/74, finishing eighth in its first season and rounding the season off in style by winning
the Sussex Senior Cup. Now under the guidance of Tony Elkins-Green, 1976/77 saw the
Hornets finish in a best ever sixth place but financial problems threatened the club’s very
survival and only the dedicated work of chairman Frank King saw the club saved from
bankruptcy and dissolution although it couldn’t prevent a young amateur team from
finishing bottom of Division One in 1979/80 and the club was relegated to the new Division
Two.

Horsham endured some dark times under numerous managers in the 1980s, finishing
bottom of the league in 1983/84 and 1989/90, when only a successful two-legged
relegation play-off against Letchworth Garden City maintained the club’s Isthmian status.
Progress was made under the management of Peter Evans from 1990, during which time
the club reached the final qualifying round of the FA Cup, though under his replacement,
John Yems, Horsham once again propped up the entire league in 1993/4 leading to the
appointment of former captain Mark Dunk as manager. He led his side to the Division
Three championship in 1995/96, narrowly missing out on a second successive promotion
before departing in 1997.

Three years of lower mid-table obscurity followed before former Crawley Town boss John
Maggs took over as manager in January 2000, taking a struggling side out of the relegation
zone to Division Two runners-up in three seasons and a promotion play-off final
appearance in 2004/05. Promotion to the Premier Division was achieved the following
season with another runners-up finish and the club went on to establish itself as a
consistent performer, even challenging for a place in Conference South in 2007/8 before
ending up eleventh.

The Hornets made history in 2007/08 by reaching the Second Round of the FA Cup and
taking eventual League One champions Swansea City to a replay, with both matches
shown live on Sky TV.

Having sold their ground for redevelopment at the end of the season, Horsham played at
Worthing during 2008/09 and reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup where
they took Conference side Stevenage Borough to a replay before ending an injury ravaged
year in thirteenth place.

Season 2009/10 saw a return to Horsham, entering into a groundshare agreement with
their old neighbours Horsham YMCA as their quest for a new ground continued, but
fortunes were on the wane and an acute overhaul of the club’s finances in 2011 resulted
in the departure of Maggs and virtually the entire playing squad.

A turbulent 2011/12 found the club under three different managers, with Simon Colbran
ultimately unable to prevent the side from returning to Division One South. A season of
stability followed, with the Hornets ending the campaign in fifteenth and claiming the
Brighton Charity Cup for a second successive season.

The club entered a new chapter in November 2013 when, following Colbran’s departure to
Crowborough Athletic, long-serving player Gary Charman was appointed as first team
manager. Charman, who played more than six hundred times for the Hornets, steered the
club to sixteenth place but a poor run of results the following season led to him being
replaced by two more former players, Anthony Storey and Cliff Cant, in January 2015.
That same month, the club’s misery was compounded when an application to build a new
home on the outskirts of the town was unanimously rejected by Horsham District Council.

Despite some impressive initial results, Storey and Cant were unable to save the club from
relegation so former East Preston manager Dominic di Paola was appointed towards the
end of the campaign with a view to rebuilding a side capable of competing in the Sussex
County League for the first time since 1951.

After a season-long battle with Eastbourne Town, Horsham took the title by eleven points
to secure a record-equalling eighth County League title, thus securing an immediate return
to the Isthmian League. During that 2015/16 campaign, the club recorded a club record
ninety-seven points whilst conceding the fewest goals in their history (twenty-two). After
a slow start to the 2016/17 campaign, in which just three of the first thirteen matches
were won, the Hornets recovered to finish in a not unsatisfactory sixteenth place in Division
One South.

Off the pitch the club finally got the news it longed for when, on March 21st 2017, a revised
ground application was submitted and overwhelmingly approved by HDC, meaning work
could finally begin on constructing a new community stadium off the Worthing Road. With
the arrangement at YMCA having come to an end, Horsham moved into the Sussex FA
Headquarters at Lancing’s Culver Road in the summer of 2017 but a crippling injury list
put paid to any pre-season expectations of improving the club’s position, with the low
point of the season coming in an 8-0 reverse at Cray Wanderers in what is the club’s
heaviest ever FA Trophy defeat. Yet that result proved the catalyst for the side to kick on
and only six of the next nineteen matches ended in defeat, a run that lifted Horsham to
eleventh in the table, only to fall away again in the closing months of the season before
ending in fifteenth spot, one better than the previous year.

Hopes that the club might start the 2018/19 campaign in the new ground went unfulfilled
but the disappointment didn’t seem to affect the players who turned Culver Road into
something of a fortress, losing just four matches in all competitions – two of them to
higher league opponents Bath City and Eastbourne Borough. Overdue runs to the latter
stages of the qualifying rounds in both the FA Cup and FA Trophy bred confidence that
was transferred into their league form and, from early December, the Hornets never
dropped below fourth place, finally finishing as runners-up to Cray Wanderers.

With automatic promotion the right of only the champions, Horsham faced a play-off semi-
final clash with Haywards Heath Town – the only side to have recorded a league double
over them during the campaign – and duly won 3-0 to set up a home final with Ashford
United. After a tense tie, played in front of over eight hundred spectators, Horsham won
through 2-1 after extra-time to return to the Premier Division after an absence of seven
years.

The sad passing of President Frank King in May 2019 meant that he tragically missed
seeing his beloved Hornets finally take ownership of its new ground, just a few weeks after
his death. His name, however, will live on through the popular decision to dedicate the
club’s new boardroom in his memory.

Backed by an average league attendance of 596 at the new Hop Oast stadium, the Hornets
continued their fine form into the 2019/2020 campaign and remained among the
promotion play-off contenders throughout the season, even topping the league in October
and November, and reached the last four of the League Cup for the first time in their
history before the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic brought the season to an early
conclusion.

Horsham FC Pen Pictures
Sam Howes

Sam is a former England youth international goalkeeper who came through the West
Ham United youth system where he was named Young Player of the Year in 2016. He
had a spell at Watford before dropping into non-league with Hampton & Richmond,
Eastbourne Borough, Woking, and Dorking Wanderers, from whom he joined the Hornets
in May 2021.

Gary Charman

A homegrown club legend, Gary made his debut in 1998 and quickly developed a
reputation as a fearless and pacey winger with an eye for goal, before successfully
converting to an accomplished centre-half. Spent a season playing Conference South
football with Eastbourne Borough but returned to Horsham as player-manager in 2013,
going on to have two spells with Bognor Regis Town. He has also played for Walton &
Hersham and Lewes.

Tom Day

Tom is a former Crystal Palace and Barnet scholar who joined Horsham from Lewes in
the summer of 2020. Whilst at Barnet he spent time at Staines Town and Hemel
Hempstead before joining Eastbourne Borough on a permanent basis. An initial loan spell
at Lewes became permanent in 2018/19, as he went on to became an ever-present in
the Rooks’ side, and his defensive versatility makes his one of the first names on the
Hornets team sheet.

Danny Dudley

A centre-half, Danny joined the Hornets in November 2020 from Carshalton Athletic
whom he’d captained during a three year stay, helping them win promotion to the
Premier Division in 2018 and a play-off final the following season. Previously at
Chipstead and Whyteleafe, he came to prominence while playing for Corinthian-Casuals
where he was a losing play-off finalist in 2017.
Alex Malins

Alex’s versatility has seen him to play at centre-back, full-back, and in midfield during a
career that began as a youngster at Crawley Town and saw him go on to captain Lewes
during a six year stay at the Dripping Pan. Initially joining the Rooks on a work
experience basis in 2013, he returned to the club on loan the following season before
making the move permanent a year later. He made over 100 appearances for the Sussex
side, despite missing the 2018/19 season through injury, before making the switch to
Horsham this summer. Alex has also played for Bognor Regis Town, Peacehaven &
Telscombe and Horsham YMCA.

Steve Metcalf

Steve is an experienced defender who has won the Isthmian Division One title with both
Peacehaven & Telscombe and Worthing, as well as helping the Hornets to promotion to
the Premier Division in 2019. He began his career at Saltdean and has also played for
Lewes, Newhaven, East Preston and Horsham YMCA.

Will Miles

A product of the Burgess Hill Youth Academy, Will made his senior debut aged just 18
and ended that first season with an Isthmian League Division One South winners’ medal.
Later promoted to captain, he missed most of the 2017/18 campaign through injury and
was released by the Hillians, after which he joined Worthing. Made the switch to the
Hornets in February 2019 and has gone on to provide a solid, unflappable, presence in
the heart of the defence.

Chris Sessegnon

Chris started out at Sutton United and had loan spells at Tooting and Kingstonian before
joining Dover Athletic in 2012. Moves to Ebbsfleet, Eastbourne Borough and Whitehawk
followed before going on to make more than 70 appearances for Margate in an injury-hit
five year stay. Began this season with Carshalton Athletic before joining Horsham in
November.

Harvey Sparks

Harvey has become one of the club’s most consistent performers since arriving from
Bognor Regis Town in September 2018. Promoted to the Isthmian Premier Division with
Worthing in 2016, he is more regularly found at left-back but is equally at home in the
midfield where his attacking prowess was instrumental in the Hornets’ promotion-
winning campaign of 2018/19. Was voted joint Player of the Season by the Hornets’
supporters in 2018/19.

Jack Brivio

The Hornets’ captain, ‘Briv’ is a composed and cultured midfielder who came through the
ranks at Tonbridge Angels only to be side lined him for a season and a half through
injury. He spent two years playing Isthmian Premier Division football with Burgess Hill
Town before joining Horsham in September 2018 and captaining the side to promotion to
the Premier Division at the end of his first season.
Lee Harding

Lee is an exciting attacking midfielder who came through the Burgess Hill Town ranks to
win both Isthmian Youth League and Isthmian League Division One South winners’
medals in 2015. Despite being a near ever-present in the Hillians’ side in 2017/18, he
was allowed to join the Hornets the following season where he gained more silverware
when helping the club to a Play-Off final victory over Ashford United.

Charlie Harris

A creative midfielder with a knack for scoring spectacular goals, Charlie spent three
years with the Brighton & Hove Albion Youth Academy, during which he made four
National League appearances on loan to Aldershot Town. After an unsuccessful move to
Barnsley he returned south to Eastbourne Borough, via a stint with his hometown club
East Grinstead, at the start of 2017/18. After a successful loan spell with Horsham that
same season he made the move permanent in the summer of 2018 but missed the last
three months of that season through injury, returning at the start of 2019/2020 in which
he scored 6 goals in 39 appearances.

Charlie Hester-Cook

Charlie came up through the Woking FC Academy ranks before joining Leatherhead in
search of regular playing time in May 2019. His performances with the Tanners caught
the attention of Dorking Wanderers who signed him up and immediately loaned him back
to their Surrey neighbours last season. He joined Horsham on loan in August 2021 and
has had similar spells at Walton & Hersham and Westfield.

Tom Kavanagh

Tom is an experienced midfielder who played Conference South football at Sutton
United, having come up through the Us’ youth ranks. He had a brief stay at Dulwich
Hamlet in 2014, either side of two spells at Kingstonian, before going on to spend four
seasons at Merstham with whom he reached the Isthmian Premier Division play-off final
in 2019. Rejoined the Ks ahead of the 2019/20 campaign, making the switch to Horsham
this summer.

Tom Richards

A versatile left-sided player, Tom had three years in the Fulham youth set-up during
which he made his professional debut on loan to League Two AFC Wimbledon in 2014. A
similar loan spell at Aldershot Town led to him joining the Shots on a permanent basis in
2015, followed by five months at Austrian side FC Kitzbühel and, after returning to the
UK, stints at Walton Casuals, Welling United and Leatherhead. He won the Isthmian
Premier Division title with Dorking Wanderers in 2019 and helped them to the National
League South play-offs before joining Kingstonian for the 2020/21 campaign. Made the
switch to Horsham in May.

Lucas Rodrigues

Brazilian-born Lucas adds a touch of Samba magic to the Hornets this season, following
his summer arrival from Whitehawk. Since making his Hawks bow in 2016, Lucas made
over 150 appearances for the Brighton-based club and was named the club’s Player of
the Year in 2019/20. The attacking midfielder also won the Buildbase Isthmian Step 4
Player of the Year award for 2019/20. Doug Tuck Doug joined Bognor Regis Town in
2012, following a two-year scholarship at Brighton & Hove Albion, and went on to make
more than 300 appearances for The Rocks. A midfielder with terrific ability on the ball,
he scored the winning goal in the 2019 Sussex Senior Cup Final and was a member of
the side that reached the semi-finals of the FA Trophy in 2016 and promotion to the
National League South in 2017/18. Made the switch to Horsham last summer.

Eddie Dsane

Eddie was on the books of Crystal Palace, Preston North End and Fleetwood Town as a
youngster and also spent time in the League of Ireland with Longford Town and Finn
Harps. Dropped into non-league football with Whyteleafe, prior to joining Maldon &
Tiptree, and went on to play for Leatherhead and Kingstonian before joining Horsham in
September 2020.

Shamir Fenelon

Shamir joined the Hornets in the summer and brings a wealth of experience to the side,
having played for 12 different clubs including Brighton & Hove Albion, Tranmere Rovers,
and Crawley Town. Capped twice at U21 level for the Republic of Ireland, and with
appearances in the Football League and National League, Shamir is the younger brother
of Chamal who played for the Hornets in 2007/8.

Rob O’Toole

A serial winner, Rob’s goals have seen him enjoy County League title successes with
Peacehaven & Telscombe, East Preston, Burgess Hill Town and Haywards Heath Town.
He began the 2017/18 campaign at Horsham before making the switch to Saltdean
United, only to return to the Hornets at the start of the following season where he scored
18 goals in 49 appearances to earn the sixth promotion of his career.
Potters Bar Town FC History
The foundations for the Mount Grace Old Scholars (Potters Bar) Football Association were
laid in spring 1960.

The school's first team were having a good season, but many of the boys were due to
leave at Easter. It was then that Ken Barrett; the P.E. Master of Mount Grace School
asked them and old 'Scholars' to support him in raising a team.

We were accepted into the Barnet & District League on 29th June 1960. Ken enlisted
Bert Wright, the school's Caretaker and Sven Hammarling and then Bill Venneear.
Reserve, 3rd and 4th Teams were added in the following seasons.

In 1965, the Barnet & District and Finchley & District Leagues merged to form the North
London Combination. By 1967/68 we had won the Premier Division and the Reserves the
Division 1 title and were admitted to Division 2 of the Herts County League.

In 1976 Bill Venneear and Clive Cavalier stepped down and Peter Waller, then the 3rd
Team manager, was ‘persuaded’ to take over.

In 1978 many recommended the closure of the Club. But we continued and our three
sides were relegated. But from the experience grew a desire never to repeat the
mistakes again. Micky Holson became Manager and in 1981/82 we were in the Premier
Division, as Division One Champions.

Clive Cavalier rejoined in 1979 and with Peter Waller planned the new Clubhouse and
changing rooms. Construction started in July 1982 and in six months, with Frank
Bentley's considerable involvement and help from members, the clubhouse opened on
the 9th January 1983.

In 1990/91, we reached the FA Vase 3rd round, before we came back from a 24 point
deficit to win the Herts Senior County League Premier Division and the Aubrey Cup.

We accepted promotion to the South Midlands League and changed our playing name to
Potters Bar Town FC, to reflect the growing stature of the club and promote the Town.
Don Newman stood down as Chairman after 11 years.

We installed the Floodlight system in 1993, the Youth section was reformed in 1993/94
and FA Cup football came in 1995/96. At the end of that season, Peter Waller stepped
down as Secretary, after twenty years, to become Chairman.

In 1996/97, the South Midlands Premier Division title was won, but we knew there was
too much work to do to apply to the Isthmian League.

The following season, 1997/98, the club reached the quarter final of the FA Vase, going
down 2-0 to Kidsgrove Athletic, only conceding in the second period of extra time. We
were Runners-up in the league, but won the Challenge Trophy and the South Midlands
Floodlight Cup. The Reserves went one better, winning Reserve Division One.

In 1998, Peter Waller and Eddie Harvey, secured a new 21-year lease on the ground,
whilst on the site the old school was demolished, replaced by a new Ladbrooke School,
Care Home, new car park and Watkins Rise. Sadly, we lost Bill Venneear in November
2000, a victim of cancer. The 150 Seater Main Stand was added in May 2001.
For Season 2001/02, Steve Smart became Manager and by 2002/03, with Paul Surridge,
we achieved 3rd place in the league and won the Herts Charity Shield. The Potters Bar
Charity Cup followed in 2003/04, but 2004/05 was the most successful of his 3 year
reign, winning four trophies; the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division and
the Premier Division Cup, Herts Charity Shield and Potters Bar Charity Cup.

The club went on to take the title by sixteen points, remaining unbeaten in the final 19
league matches, including sixteen victories.

Off the pitch, in 6 weeks Club members and Players carried out major improvements and
we passed the FA Ground grading and earned promotion to the Southern League Division
1 East for season 2005/06.

Steve Smart stepped down; Kevin Lucas was appointed, and then replaced by Andy
Milne. Though we were bottom for six months, we would not give up. Andy Leese agreed
to join us in February 2006 and with new players our fortunes changed and we survived
relegation, finishing 16th. The club was devastated that season by the death of Ken
Woodward, who had spearheaded the ground improvements.

For 2006/07, we were moved to the Ryman League Division 1 North. We enjoyed a most
successful FA Cup run, losing away by 3-2 to full-time Woking, of the Conference
National, in the 4th qualifying round, after wins against Waltham Abbey, Wealdstone,
Maldon Town and Margate by 2-1 away. But we won the Herts FA Charity Cup, for the
first time, but lost Kevin Wilmot, as Secretary. Andy Leese left in May 2007 and we
appointed Steve Browne, though he resigned in December 2008.

In the summer of 2007, a spectators covered area was added and a turnstile block. All
four turnstiles have a unique history, as they were all in use at the old Wembley
Stadium, until it closed in 2000. Adam Lee was appointed in 2008 and for 5 years served
the Club with great distinction and commitment, always improving our league position
and reached the Herts Senior Cup Final in 2012/13 for the only time.

In May 2010, to celebrate our 50th year, many former players returned, including 9 who
had played in the very first match in September 1960! Bert Wright, one of our
'founders', received the FA 50 years service Award. To commemorate the occasion, the
Club reverted to Maroon shirts, the same colours that we wore in June 1960. In January
2012, Bert Wright died at the age of 93, having given the club 52 years of service. In his
honour, we renamed the Main stand after him.

For 2013/14 we were back in the Southern League. In late 2013, Adam Lee stepped
down, succeeded by Jack Friend, then in early 2015, by Steve Ringrose.

Our Free Season Ticket Offer was launched for 2014/15 and made the national press.
Sadly, we lost Eddie Harvey.

In 2015/16 we reached the semi-final of the League Cup, and then in 2016/17 we made
the 4th qualifying round of the F.A. Cup for the second time, including a replay win at
Bath City on penalties (our best result against a team from a higher level).

In Summer 2017 the Clubroom was totally refurbished and in August 2018, after raising
£100,000 ourselves and 3 years work by John Gibbs, our new Changing Room complex
was opened.

For 2017/18 we were back in the Isthmian League Division 1 North. In September 2017,
Peter Waller, celebrated 50 years of service to the Club and received an FA Award. Steve
Ringrose 'promoted' James Duncan to Head Coach and several experienced players
arrived.

We started with another successful run in the FA Cup, losing to National South Play Off
Finalists Hampton & Richmond Borough, whilst in the FA Trophy we fell to Southern
League Premier Division Champions, Hereford, both after replays. We then targeted the
Play offs, being 8th in January.

However, in our remaining 22 fixtures, we won 15 and drew 5 and came through to take
2nd spot and promotion, with a win on the final day. As a result, we proudly started
2018/19 in the Premier Division.

The 2018/19 season was to present two challenges:

One: Make the necessary ground improvements to reach the next level ground grading
requirements which meant the addition of two new stands - one a 100-seater and the
other a 100 standing - this was achieved on time - thanks to the hard work of club
members and supporters and fund-raising and grants.

Two: Establish ourselves at step three. This we did - finishing 16th in the in the Bostik
Premier League despite the departure of our management team in the season, but we
again promoted from within with Lee O'Leary stepping up to player/manager and being
joined by Scott Cousins as joint manager. It was another season of significant progress.

The shortened 2019/20 season was another successful one as the club solidified its
position at Step three and gained national interest as we took Barnet to a replay in the
FA Cup Fourth Round Qualifying, whilst the home game being shown on the BBC with a
crowd 0f 2011 in attendance.

The 2020/21 season was also curtailed, with the last game being played in October, a 3-
1 loss against Leatherhead. The season’s termination did not prevent us from continuing
to make progress on and off the pitch however, as on the pitch we were able to enjoy 3-
0 wins against both Cheshunt and Cray Wanderers, the latter ending our opponent’s 17
game unbeaten run.

Off the pitch, further improvements were made to the renamed LA Construction
Stadium, as a state-of-the-art sprinkler system, a perimeter barrier around the pitch and
a new draining system were all installed, whilst the main grandstand was changed to a
maroon and white colour with new seats and a repaint in order to match the new club
colours.

Potters Bar Town FC Player Profiles:
Management:

Sammy Moore

New boss Sammy Moore was appointed Scholars manager in January, taking charge of
his first game on the 1st of February, losing 2-3 to Cray Wanderers. Sammy is looking to
put our season back on track and will be relying on a wealth of experience to do so,
having previously been in charge of the likes of Concord Rangers and Hemel Hempstead
Town. Sammy’s guidance will be priceless as we look to end our season strongly.
Darren Beale

Assistant manager Darren Beale joined the club as part of Sammy’s coaching staff and
his previous stints working with the manager at Hemel Hempstead and Concord Rangers
means the pair have proven themselves to be a successful partnership in the past.
Darren boasts an impressive CV, having also worked at Dover Athletic, Gillingham's
academy, Hythe and Ramsgate. He also spent some time last season coaching in Spain.

Players:

Eniola Agemoh-Davies

Eniola Agemoh-Davies has played for St Ives this season and the defender was able to
get an assist for Guerfi on his debut against Cray. The 18-year-old defender is a
prospect that provides good power and pace, whilst also offering the ability to play out
from the back.

Hafed Al Droubi

Hafed, or Haf as he is affectionately known, is our new number one having joined from
Northwood. Al Droubi has experience playing across Europe and is known for his ability
to command his area and his brilliant distribution.

Joseph Boachie

Already a fan favourite, Joe Boachie arrived from Concord on a dual contract with the
Beachboys and has already cemented his place in the side. A cool finisher, Boachie is
most fondly known by the Bar Army for his long-range stunner to open the scoring
against arch-rivals Wingate & Finchley in a 2-0 win at the Maurice Rebak Stadium.

Tyler Christian-Law

Experienced central midfielder Tyler Christian-Law has managed to attain playing time at
a higher level, such as making 17 appearances for Braintree Town in the 2019/20
season, scoring two goals. A good leader, Tyler will be hoping to raise the games of
those around him, whilst also hoping to make vital contributions on the pitch with his
vision and ability to read the game.

Sam Cornish

We have secured the loan signing of the 20-year-old midfielder From Colchester United
until the end of the current season. The addition sees us strengthen our midfield options
further. The central midfielder first put pen to paper Colchester United at the start of the
2021/22 season, signing his first professional contract with the club. He has since made
a number of appearances for the U23's side, proving the potential Cornish has to
develop into a fine player.

Max Delyfer

Max has been a great addition to our midfield from the U23’s. The young midfielder has
fantastic vision and is a very good passer of a ball, which allows him to be a creative
influence from the middle of the park.

Calvin Dickson

Calvin joined the club in the early stages of the season and made his debut on the 26th
of October in a 0-2 loss against Ware in the Hertfordshire County Cup First Round. A
player who isn’t afraid to get stuck in, Calvin is an important member of O’Leary’s squad.
Zak Guerfi

Zak Guerfi impressed on his debut, scoring in a 3-2 loss against Cray Wanderers for the
club. The Tunisian midfielder joined from Leatherhead and was a product of Stevenage’s
academy. The 23-year-old still has youth on his side despite having gained experience in
the Pitching In Isthmian League.

Jacques Kpohomouh

Defender Jacques Kpohomouh arrived from Herne Bay and the 24-year-old Guinean joins
the club looking to prove himself to Sammy Moore and his coaching staff. Kpohomouh’s
most notable club was Hemel Hempstead, whom he played for in the 18/19 season.

Chris Manangu

Chris Manangu arrives at the club having also played for St Ives this season, making
four appearances in all competitions. The striker last played for Kempston Rovers and
will be looking to improve an already strong front line available to Sammy Moore.

Isaac Ogundere

Isaac Ogundere joined The Scholars in February on loan from AFC Wimbledon. The
defender excelled out on loan at Leatherhead and was a fan favourite, and he will be
hoping to use his experience in the Isthmian Premier League to push Bar up the table.

Corey Parchment

Defender Corey arrived at the club at the start of the season and is well respected
around the club. The versatile defender has featured on the left and centrally and will
hope to continue to solidify our defence this season.

Dwight Pascal

Dwight returns for his second spell at the club having left to join Barnet last season. The
young right back has experience playing at higher levels and will be an asset to Sammy
this season due to his ability to get forwards and join in with attacks to outnumber the
opponents.

Amine Sassi

Amine began to gain some appearances towards the end of last season having been an
academy product beforehand. The midfielder has flair and the ability to do the
unexpected, which he will hope he can build on to earn a place in the starting XI for this
season.

Jaden Sharman

The young defender can play in both a central position and on the right-hand side, Jaden
arrives for his debut season with Bar having joined from Northwood, whom he had made
12 appearances for despite still only being a teenager.

Frazer Shaw

The defender arrived at the club in February from Kingstonian and will be looking to help
push the team on with his experience and knowhow. The 27 year old left back was a
product for the West Ham academy and has played for the likes of Concord Rangers,
Dulwich Hamlet and Leyton Orient before arriving at the Scholars.
