Community Port offers tenants emergency financial relief As the Port of Seattle continues to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are working to maintain community health, safety, and wellbeing while maintaining essential operations at critical Port facilities. We are also taking steps to help our small business partners and Port tenants recover from the COVID-19 economic collapse. The Port Commission approved an emergency short-term financial relief package that includes barring evictions at Port facilities due to an inability to pay rent through June 30, 2020 and the Port is collaborating with regional partners on webinars to help small businesses understand and access the resources being distributed as part of the Federal Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act. In the next month, the Port will examine how federal, state, and local safety net programs and the CARES Act benefits Port businesses and workers as it considers additional financial relief.
