Beyonce Named Most Powerful Woman In Music Singer and songwriter Beyonce Knowles Carter has been named most powerful woman in music by BBC Wom- an’s Hour Power List.The singer who just wrapped up touring in the US with husband Jay Z was praised for her remarkable charity work with her BeyGood foundation and releasing music with political infusion from her chart topping album Lemonade. The judges, who included British popstar Kate Nash, top producer Catherine Marks and classical musician Jes- sica Duchen chose the Formation hitmaker ahead of Taylor Swift in second place and Adele in fourth on their Women in Music Power List. It is not the first time Beyonce has been honoured as in 2016 she was named as one of the seven most powerful women of the past 70 years. Taylor Swift was praised by the panel for standing up to streaming companies like Apple and Spotify over royal- ties and for successfully winning a sexual assault case against a US ex-radio DJ over an incident in 2013. The top 40 didn’t just recognise big-sellers and global stars making room for the unsung heroes who work be- hind the scenes to champion women.Third place went to Vanessa Reed who is a director of the PRS Foundation and has persuaded dozens of festivals to sign up to a 50:50 gender balance on their line-ups by 2022. The top 10 also includes Marin Alsop who became the first female conductor to lead the Last Night of the Proms in 2013; Chi-chi Nwanoku who founded Europe’s first professional majority black and minority ethnic orchestra and Sarah Stennett who is the CEO of First Access Entertainment which manages singers such as Rita Ora, Ray BLK and Bebe Rexha. Cardi B took fourteenth place while Sia,Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell and Dua Lipa took fifteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth place respectively.The Woman’s Hour producers released the music power list to coincide with BBC Music Day.It publishes its Power List annually focusing on a different theme each time.

According to Disney,they have already hired Sterling K Brown from the hit show This is us and Evan Rachel wood from WestWorld to play major roles in Frozen 2.Evan is rumoured to be the one voicing Elsa’s love interest in the upcoming film. This week, VH1 confirmed the news, releasing the official trailer for their new show titled, T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle. The show will feature T.I, his wife and xcape member Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris and their children Zonnique, Messi- ah, Domani, Deyjah, King, Major and Heiress. The show will also feature some of Tiny’s close friends like singer Monica,former Destiny’s Child member Letoya Luckett,Lil Wayne’s ex wife Antonia “Toya” Wright and their daughter Reginae Carter. New York Fashion Week Kicked Off Last Month With A-List Celebrities In Attendance New York Fashion Week kicked off last month with designers such as Tom Ford,Saint Lauren,Jeremy Scott,Ver- sace and many others showcasing their designs on the runway. Vogue’s editor-in- chief Anna Wintor,Cardi B,Paris Hilton, Nicki Minaj and many other celebrities were in atten- dance as they graced the prestigious event in pomp and colour. The A-List celebrities sat on the front row next to the runway while others like Lil Kim chose to take a shot at modelling for the first time at Fashion Week. Celebrity models such as Gigi Hadid,Kendall Jenner and Kaya Goerber graced the event with their presence as they strutted on the runway for different designers. New York Fashion Week is held in February and September of each year in the Big Apple.It is a semi-annual series of events when international fashion collections are shown to buyers, the press and the general public. It is one of four major fashion weeks in the world collectively known as the “Big 4,” along with those in Paris, London and Milan. Cardi B Loses Support From Music Industry After Fight With Nicki Minaj Rapper Cardi B attacked fellow rapper Nicki Minaj at New York Fashion Week during a Harper’s Bazaar party at The Plaza hotel.According to witnesses Cardi B approached Nicki’s table in an aggressive manner prompting security personnel to jump in and immediately separate the two. Close sources to Cardi B say that the rapper was going to confront Nicki over comments she made on social me- dia about her mothering skills when security jumped in and accidentally bruised her forehead.Nicki remained cool as a cucumber but later went off on her radio talk show Queen Radio.The Barbie Dreams rapper said,” You put your hands on some people you are going to die.My money is very long.”According to industry insiders Atlantic Records is very disappointed in the Bodak Yellow rapper because of the negative press she has been getting so far because of the incident.
