Poinsettia Fundraising
TERRA grows over 60,000 Poinsettias each year. We pride ourselves on superior quality plants that simply
cannot be found elsewhere. A plant sure to brighten any room during the Holiday season can become a
great fundraising venture for your group.
TERRA’s great poinsettia Fundraising is an established program that has brought great success to several
causes. From schools to churches, sports teams and clubs, all have brought great gains to their cause.

Products Available:
There are 4 sizes of Poinsettias available: Christmas Cheer (4”), Winter Wonderland (6”), Santa’s Table
Top (8” three colour Tri Pan), and Holiday Blast (8”), all in red, white, or pink. All of the plants come with
a decorative pot cover. We also offer 1 festive arrangement, 2 outdoor evergreen arrangements, a
wreath, and a TERRA Gift Card. Poinsettias come directly from our green houses and are the highest
quality.
Plant Delivery: Delivery can be scheduled for your orders. Please book your delivery date and order
with us at least 2 weeks in advance. This will allow us to get you the best products and ensure that
you get the colours that you have requested. The most popular dates for Delivery are the last week of
November and first week of December. Please contact the fundraising representative at your preferred
TERRA location with any inquiries as to delivery charge, or available dates.
Once you receive your plants get them to the customers as quickly as possible. They should be taken
from their packaging within 12 hours. This is a great time to thank your customer. Inform them of the
success your fundraising efforts have generated for your cause. Ensure that you give them a Poinsettia
care sheet, to help with their success. Please let us know within 24 hours if your order was shorted
anything. $25 delivery fee for all orders within 35 km of the store, over 35km there will be a
delivery surcharge depending on the distance.

Sales Aids:
Provided in this package are a few helpful items to get you started.
• You will be provided with a pamphlet that you can print. This will give all of the information to your
potential customers. It will allow you to put your own personal touch, and pricing into it.
• There is a sheet with selling tips and suggested sale prices.
• An order form is provided to keep track all of your orders.
• A care sheet is available for you to give your customer when delivering their plants.
Organizing A Fundraiser:
There are several things to consider when organizing a fundraiser.
Below is a suggested schedule for your planning.
Review all information. Contact TERRA with any questions. Generate
a tentative schedule for yourself. (When to have your information

October 4th-24th excited! Introduce them to the “Poinsettia”, potential earnings and
rewards
This is when you should be having fun trying to reach your goal.
October 25th- Nov 7th A rewards program often motivates the sales advocates. (Eg: top sales,
most customers etc.)
Book your delivery date to ensure your desired date is available.
November 8th
Your order can follow!
November 22nd This is the most popular delivery window. Once your date is booked,
- December 10th await the delivery of your beautiful plants

Sales Tips:
• Start selling as soon as you receive your brochures
• If you have a uniform of any kind, wear it
• Relax, you will be a huge part of reaching your fundraising goal!
• Introduce yourself. Talk a little bit about your group and what your goals are.
Offer a few key points about the “Poinsettia” (Holiday Tradition, they are not
poisonous, available in 4 sizes).
• Show the customer the colourful brochure and let them know that it is great
quality product straight from the grower.
• Start with family & family friends. Get your confidence up, work on your sales
pitch. The lunchroom at Mom or Dad’s work is always a great spot.
• Fill out the order form completely (Name and phone # are very important)
• Gather all of your orders before the deadline, making sure that you have
received payment.
• Once you have received your product, ensure prompt pickup or delivery to
your customer

How to care for your Poinsettia
• TERRA’s Poinsettias are grown by TERRA and are of superior quality.
• Poinsettias like indirect sunlight
• Poinsettias do not like to sit in water. When you water your plant you should
remove the pot cover and let them drain.
• Poinsettias don’t like drafts. Keep them away from the front door, heat vents,
and ceiling fans.
• Poinsettias must be protected from the outdoors. Ensure that they are
covered when transporting them.
• You don’t need to fertilize your Poinsettia
Did you Know...
Poinsettias are not poisonous!
They are not intended for human/
animal consumption, but a person/
animal would have to eat over their
body weight in the plant for it
to be dangerous.
