Pluryal® fillers use a non animal hyaluronic acid of bio fermentative origin = no risk of allergies.
Pluryal® fillers are purified after cross-linking, controlling the levels of the following residuals:

Endotoxin < 5 EU/ml*Non reticulated HA degrades within 0.5 to few days. HA should be modified through cross-linking in order to offer lasting results. For improvement of the mechanical properties and residence time at the implant site HA is chemically modified by crosslinking. For crosslinking, the natural HA molecules are covalently bound to each other with repeating bridges to create a polymer ‘network’, transforming the viscous liquid into a gel. Several different crosslinking strategies exist. The device is crosslinked using 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE). Compared with native HA, the crosslinked HA gel is considerably resistant to enzymatic and free radical breakdown, resulting in a dramatic increase in tissue residence time. Increased crosslinking and concentration increase the viscosity and elasticity as well as the resistance to degradation by native hyaluronidase. Native HA is added in order to adjust the rheological properties and the injectability of the fillers (Tezel & Fredrickson, 2008), (Kablik, Monheit et al., 2009). Pluryal Contour Lidocaine is formulated at a concentration of 25 mg/ml of hyaluronic acid in a physiologic buffer, intensely cross-linked with BDDE (1,4-Butanediol-diglycidyl-ether) degree 4, giving it high volumizing capacity for the correction of severe volume deficits and facial contours. Why BDDE? BDDE has a proven tolerance, efficiency and safety profile. Clinical and biocompatibility data from longer than 15 years support the favorable clinical safety profile of BDDE-crosslinked HA and its degradation products. Given the strength of the empirical evidence, physicians should be confident in offering these products to their patients*. *De Boulle et al. A gel has a high or lower elasticity when the response to the deformation is regained in a short or long time after the removal of the applied force. This parameter is determined by the HA concentration, the molecular weight of the HA and the share of the non-cross-linked HA in the final product. It has a consequence on the smoothness and natural effect of the results. The gel elasticity plays a major role in the efficacy of a filler. Pluryal Contour Lidocaine elastic modulus (G”) is superior to the one of Juvederm Voluma XC : 31,143 mPa > 28,471 mPa.

BACKGROUND: Effective pain management is an important component of aesthetic procedures. OBJECTIVE: To compare the pain relief and safety of large-gel particle hyaluronic acid (HA) plus 0.3% lidocaine (LGP-HA+L) with that of LGP-HA without lidocaine during correction of nasolabial folds (NLFs) and to assess filler safety in different skin types. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Sixty subjects were enrolled in a randomized, double-blind, split-face study of LGP-HA and LGP-HA+L for NLF correction. Subjects assessed pain on a 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS). The primary objective was to demonstrate that more than 50% of subjects experienced pain relief with LGP-HA+L, defined as a within-subject VAS difference of at least 10 mm at the end of injection. RESULTS: LGP-HA+L resulted in pain relief in 57 (95.0%, 95% confidence interval=86.1-99.0) subjects at the end of injection. The mean within-subject VAS difference was 34.4 mm. Injection- related adverse events occurred at similar frequencies with both products. Slightly higher adverse event rates were observed with Fitzpatrick skin type IV for both compounds. The safety profiles of LGP-HA and LGP-HA+L were similar to each other in all skin types. CONCLUSION: The addition of lidocaine substantially reduces the pain of LGP-HA injection without altering safety. LGP-HA and LGP-HA+L were generally well tolerated in all Fitzpatrick skin types.
