The AxSEAM™ Scanner
For Simplified Longitudinal Seam Weld Inspection
Optimized for long seam weld inspection, such as in electric resistance welded (ERW) pipes, the AxSEAM™ scanner’s simple design
minimizes the number of adjustments required when changing pipe diameters, probe separation, or scan orientation.
An operator can set up and perform the scan independently without needing to manipulate or monitor the data acquisition instrument
thanks to the innovative ScanDeck™ module. The redesigned, easily adjustable probe holders support up to four phased array (PA) and
time-of-flight diffraction (TOFD) probes.
Versatile Multitechnology Solution
When used with the OmniScan™ X3 flaw detector, the AxSEAM scanner enables fast PA/TOFD screening of long seam welds followed
by more targeted inspection of regions of interest using the total focusing method (TFM)—without needing to switch the probes.
TFM provides even focus in the region of interest, making it easier to characterize the difficult-to-detect indications that are typical in
ERW long seams, such as vertical flaws and hook cracks.

Role of Portable X-Ray Fluorescence (pXRF) Spectrometry in Phosphate Investigations
Over the last decade, portable X-ray luorescence (pXRF) spectrometry has shown to be a viable method for in- ield geochemical
analysis in phosphate investigations conducted by the mining and exploration industries. The Olympus Vanta™ pXRF spectrometer
plays a critical role in this application by providing real-time quanti ication and analysis of phosphates. This application note
demonstrates how the Vanta pXRF analyzer can accurately measure important phosphate minerals and other elements used in
phosphate exploration.
Phosphate Rock Elemental Analysis
Phosphate is generally found in these ive types of natural deposits: marine sediments, volcanic, metamorphic, eroded soil, and
biogenic ores.1Phosphorite, broadly known as rock phosphate or phosphate rock, contains between 2% and 10% phosphorous by
weight, or between 4% and 20% P2O5. As high-vitality phosphate mines are continually exhausted, there has been a steady trend of
declining availability of high-grade phosphate sources.2> This decline has increased the need for precise and accurate readings of
phosphate rock across all concentration levels and many elements.

Metalogic Inspection Services – An Advanced Inspection Approach

A smart software for Non-Destructive Testing

information provided by NDT equipment in order to display signals, analyzes them,
makes a sorting decision and creates inspection reports. Probus is the decision-

Ionix have been awarded UK Research and Innovation
funding to develop on-stream, high-temperature TOFD. Real-
time data of defects in high-energy pipework and vessels is
important to aid sustainable recovery from Covid-19 in the
UK's critical infrastructure, including gas and nuclear power
plants.
Ionix will develop a new range of ultrasonic transducers,
