Mission Statement A consor.um of five leading European academic hospitals uses the European commission’s Pre-commercial Procurement (PCP) funding scheme to challenge and s.mulate European industry to: Design and develop a resilient support tool, to be applied in the field of pa6ents, planned for surgery, with the aim of reducing stress and anxiety as well as improving the health condi6on of the pa6ent during the complete care path. The available budget for the development of this innova.ve solu.on is 4.7 million euro of which 3.26 million euro (including VAT) will flow as innova.on subsidies to the industry.

PCP Cofund Ac.ons PCP to steer the development of solu.ons towards concrete public sector needs, whilst comparing/valida.ng alterna.ve solu.on approaches from various vendors PPI to act as launching customer / early adopter / first buyer of innova.ve commercial end-solu.ons newly arriving on the market STARS Specific Call Ac.ve ageing and self-management of health SC1-PM-12–2016: PCP - eHealth innova.on in empowering the pa.ent. Goals of Open Market Consulta.on Main goals: • Market consulta.on is a powerful instrument that helps understanding (not solving) the gap between demand and supply and is vital as means to create and increase awareness of the market rela>ng to the needs of public authori.es • A market consulta.on could offer the necessary informa.on on how to split the development process into (sub-)phases and how to organize the field tes.ng ac.vi.es. • Market consulta.ons could shed light on several paramount issues for the success of the project, including technical feasibility and market poten.ality. A market consulta>on can not be used (to ask) to pre-select the market operators for the procurement phase.
