Friends of St Anne’s Needs You Does your child enjoy learning to play an instrument with their class? Have you had a Y6 child who enjoyed a trip to the Midland Safari Park? Does your child enjoy learning in the outdoor classroom in Reception? Do you like the wide variety of reading books that your child brings home? Would you like these types of things to continue to be available for your child to enjoy and to support their learning? Do you and your family enjoy coming to the Bingo evening , the Fireworks or the Summer picnic? Does your child look forward to seeing Father Christmas and dancing at the dis- co? Or is Bedtime stories a highlight of your child’s year? Would you like these sorts of social events to continue? I am sad to say that unless you do something now all of these things will be lost. Our cur- rent committee have worked tirelessly for several years but now find that changes in their cir- cumstances mean that they need to retire. We have had one volunteer who has said that he would share the position of Chair with someone but we do need another person to allow this to happen. We also need to secure a Treasurer to look after banking the money, overseeing purchases and record keeping. Additionally a Secretary is needed to keep the minutes of meetings. We also need committee members who will help plan and run events. Currently the committee meet at The Cronkinson in an evening to plan for events but the new committee could change this. Meetings could be electronic ( eg conference calls) or they could take place during the day in school—it is up to you. They could decide to do completely different events or continue with the popular range that we currently have. Please don’t let this valuable resource be lost—the school needs the money that FOSA raises more than ever. If you feel that you are able to be on the committee or would like more information come to a free Pancake and coffee afternoonon Tuesday 25th February at 2.30pm—pre-schoolers welcome or speak to Mrs Philliben on the playground or Mrs Kelly after school.
