General Manager’s Comments
As we enter June, it seems only fitting to contemplate baseball. The irrepressible
Tommy Lasorda, said, “No matter how good you are, you’re going to lose
one-third of your games. No matter how bad you are, you are going to win
one-third of your games. It’s the other third that makes the difference.” Like
baseball, Life is a game of chance and skill, which works well with Lasorda’s
thinking because win or lose, we don’t have a chance unless we play ball.
We look forward to a summer of fun at the Club House and Main Pool, with
a July 1st target for resumption of shuttle service to select locations during
the week, and an interesting calendar of activities, including movie nights, our
popular arts and crafts series, and Sunday DJ by the pool, barring unforeseen
circumstances due to the pandemic. Let there be no doubt, Park Newport’s
popular food truck dates will continue throughout the summer. Please join us
on Friday, 6/4 for Coconut Food Truck, Friday, 6/11 for Viking Food Truck, Friday
6/18 for Nostimo Food Truck, and Friday 6/25 for Taco Miendo Food Truck.
Park Newport’s Fitness Centers, pools, spa, Putting Green, Basketball Court, and
Tot Lot are open with occupancy restrictions, which are expected to be lifted
by mid-June. As you know, in May, Orange County moved into the Yellow Tier
of California’s Plan for Re-Opening, so social distancing is still required for use
of all amenities, including tennis, and masks are required in the Club House.

On Friday, June 4 The Coconut Food Truck will Let’s welcome back The Viking Truck to
be visiting us from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. The Park Newport on Friday, June 11 from 5:00

Tres Compas Food Truck will be coming back to
Park Newport on Tuesday, June 1, June 15, and On Friday, June 25 Taco Miendo will be
June 29 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.! Founded by visiting Park Newport. Taco Miendo is a
three friends who have dedicated themselves to Mexican grill that has numerous options such
providing fresh and authentic Mexican food that as vegan nachos, shrimp burrito, taco plate,
has no comparison. Serving you a wide variety and even a veggie Cali burrito! They will be
of dishes that stay true to south of the border located outside the Clubhouse from 5:00 p.m.
