                     2020-2021

  Please be advised that our After-Care program is a service for our parents who need
   their child(ren) to remain in school until 6:00 pm. Therefore, if you anticipate any
conflict with our schedule, you should consider others means of care for your child(ren).
                        There are no exceptions to this policy.

                      Before and After Care Program

                                         Mission
 To provide an extension of quality in education that is offered by Renaissance Charter
 School at Summit. Here children will discover social, physical and academic learning
   styles in a safe, caring and supportive environment that promotes self-discipline,
                          motivation and excellence in education.

                              Registration and Rates
         A $25.00 registration fee per family is due at the time of registration.
Applied Rates:
  • Before Care                             $63.00 per month
  • Full time After Care                    $188.00 per month
  • Part-time After Care                     $125.00 per month
  • Both Before and After Care               $230.00 per month
  • Each rate includes a 3.95% processing fee from My School Bucks

                                 Hours of Operation

   •   Before Care will begin at 6:30 am and end at 7:30 am
   •   Doors will close at 7:15am for drop off
   •   After Care will begin promptly after school dismissal at 3:30pm
   •   Part-time dismissal until 4:30pm; after the second time been late you will be
       charge the full time rate.
   •   After Care dismisses at 6:00 pm; after 6:00pm you will be charged $2.00 per
       min.

Description of Services
The daily After Care program will include:
   • Snacks and Drinks
   • Homework Assistance
   • Outdoor Activities: Including organized games and sports
   • Indoor Activities: games, crafts, etc.

                                Contact Information
Parents may contact the After-Care office between 10:00 am – 6:00 pm at
561-228-5240 Ext 1009 to address any issues or concerns. A parent may request a
meeting with the Director of the program at any time to discuss any matter of concern.
Before Care Program – Arrival Procedure
Students enrolled in the Before Care Program must enter at the cafeteria doors WITH
A PARENT. All parents are required to sign their child in each morning when they
drop their child off. Students enrolled in the Before Care program will not be
permitted into the school until 6:30 am and must not be dropped off prior
to this time as there is no supervision present. Students not enrolled in the
Before Care program will not be permitted on school grounds until 7:30
am.

                   After Care Program – Departure Procedure
After Care pick up begins at 3:30 pm. CHILDREN WILL NOT BE RELEASED
BEFORE THIS TIME. If you plan on picking up your child before dismissal, please
provide your child’s teacher with a written note or email to have your child report to
parent pick up. Students must be picked up by 6:00 pm.

   •   Parent or authorized pick up personnel must sign the child out with a signature
       and indication of time of pick-up. Photo ID will be required.
   •   Children will only be released to the Primary and Secondary Parent/Guardian as
       well as those listed on the Authorized Pick up list.
   •   No one under the age of 18 will be permitted to pick any child. For
       safety reasons, students will be called to sign out location. Please wait patiently
       until your child comes down.
   •   Please note that after 6:10 pm, Renaissance Charter School at Summit
       reserves the right to contact the police or (DCF) Department of Children and
       families to notify any student who are not picked up by their parent. This could
       constitute child abandonment by the authorities.
   •   Parent that are late picking up their children more than three times within a pay
       period are subject to removal from the After Care Program.

                                    After Care Fees
   •   Fees are paid for service and are due on the given due date.
   •   Non-payment of scheduled fees will result in late fees of $20.00
   •   AFTER TWO WEEKS student WILL BE WITHDRAWN FROM THE
       PROGRAM.

                                     Discounts
              10% discount will apply to siblings only on the monthly fee.
Payment Method

My School Bucks
My School Bucks payments can be made by accessing our school website at
www.recssummit.org. Go to Quick Links < My School Bucks < Sign up or download the
App. Once you are ready to make a payment, choose your program: Before Care, After
Care part time or full time, or Before and After Care.
For ELC students’ parents must know their different amount every month or contact the
director for help before making a payment.
My School Bucks charge a 3.95% processing fee for each payment.

                      Student Behavior and Discipline Policy
All students enrolled in the Before and After Care programs are to follow the Palm
Beach County Code of Conduct, and Renaissance Charter School at Summit addendum
to the Code of Conduct. Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and a parent
conference will be scheduled. For more information visit the link palmbeachschools.org

                                        Offenses
The following behaviors are considered OFFENSES during the Before and After Care
Program at Renaissance Charter School at Summit and will result in a corrective action
including, but not limited to the Students Code of Conduct of the School district of Palm
Beach County.

1.  Disruption – interfering with program or After Care routine.
2.  Profane Language – use of profane or unacceptable language.
3.  Disobedience to the lawful instructions of a staff – disobeying the lawful
    instructions of the Director, teacher, or other staff member.
4. Out-of-Bounds – being in any part of the building or grounds including bathrooms,
    parking lot, classrooms, or offices unless specifically scheduled to be there or
    unless he/she has received permission from an appropriate authority. If a student
    is in an area of the building without permission, other than the assigned classroom,
    it is grounds for removal from the school.
5. Theft – taking the property of another without right or permission.
6. Fighting or violence – participating in physical contact and/or verbal abuse with
    one or more students.
7. Vandalism – purposeful destruction of school or student property.
8. Wrongful conduct – actions that impede, obstruct, interfere with or violate the
    Center’s mission, philosophy, and regulations.
9. Destruction and or intentional harm to person or property.
10. Disrespect of the rights of others or other’s property – willful destruction or
    rudeness towards others (staff or students).
11. Conduct which endangers themselves or others – any form of physical contact
    which jeopardizes others including but not limited to horseplay and throwing
    objects.
12. Harassment, Intimidation, or Bullying – is expressly forbidden.
13. Unauthorized websites and misuse of Internet – Students misuse or actions related
    to the Internet may lead to the loss of his/her privileges and/or disciplinary action.
14. If the student is 10 minutes late after school dismissal, they will be deemed tardy.
    After three tardies there will consequences for the student.
15. Any other behaviors that the Director deems as offenses will result in corrective
    action.

                                     Consequences
The following actions are considered CONSEQUENCES during the Before and After
Care Program at Renaissance Charter School at Summit and will be implemented
following the Code of Conduct of the School District of Palm Beach County at the
discretion of the After-Care Director.

      1. Loss of Privileges: Temporary or Permanent removal from an activity or area.
      2. Suspension: Removal from participation from program for a duration of time at
         the discretion of the Director in consultation with staff members.
      3. Withdrawal from Program: Director reserves the right to have a student
         permanently withdrawn from program due to repetitive violations of
         conduct/actions, non-payment of tuition, or serious action of student
         that warrants immediate withdrawal from program.
