The BCE Institute Story Our story began in 2003, back then we were a training company and part of the evolving skills development landscape in South Africa. From one project with one facilitator crisscrossing the country, operating from the boot of an old Volkswagen Jetta, the founder, Ezekiel More has grown BCE Institute to be a company with multiple large-scale projects and global reach. Today, the company has grown to become a remarkable project management and skills development company with an impressive footprint responsible for multibillion Rands projects. Over 25 000 people have undergone our accredited and non-accredited training programmes and the number is growing. Roots/Origin Our name, “Boikgantsho” is a Setswana word which means “pride” and indeed we pride ourselves with the high quality and standard of our work. At the outset, we are proud to proclaim that we provide project management services, advanced and specialised skills development programmes that are second to none. More Chief Executive Ofcer An incredible eye for detail, an uncompromising demand for excellence, the drive to always exceed clients' expectations and the desire to always be a cut above the rest is what drives the founder of BCE Institute, Ezekiel More. He has infused the company with his unique brand of leadership, passion and professionalism. His commitment to quality and service excellence has become an obsession. Ezekiel brings a wealth of valuable experience to the team with more than 100 training interventions under his belt. He has impressive skills in relationship building and talent management. He is constantly looking for innovative, exciting new ways to empower people through learning. The calibre of managers and staff at BCE Institute and the company's contribution to their continued professional and academic development bears testimony to his passion for talent development. Ezekiel More holds a Public Management degree and an Honours degree from the University of the North and the University of the North West respectively. He was also a member of CAPAM [Commonwealth Association for Personal Administration Management], IIAS [International Institute of Administration Sciences] and ASPAM [American Society for Personnel Management]. He started his career in 1985 at the University of North- West, lecturing in Public Administration. In 1989 he moved to Technikon Northern Gauteng, currently known as Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), as a lecturer in Public Administration. He is an experienced facilitator who has delivered numerous papers at local and international conferences, seminars and forums on a range of topics that include: Policy Management & Development, Service Delivery, Leadership, Delegation, Change Management and Team Building. His passion for people development is what drove him to establish Boikgantsho Consulting and Events (BCE) Institute. 4
Our Impressive Credentials Regulatory Status We are a multi-SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority) accredited Further Education and Training (FET) private college with over 15 years' unrivalled experience and 147 accredited programmes. We are also accredited by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) and UMALUSI. Our primary accreditation is with the Local Government SETA (LGSETA) and we have programme approval (extension of scope) with EWSETA, ETDP SETA, Agri SETA, WRSETA and Services SETA. The Team With more than 50 years combined experience, our team offers a unique and diverse blend of expertise in skills development and project management. This exceptional combination of talent, our hands-on experience and our extensive knowledge of the environment within which we operate form the foundation of te products and services we offer. Hamlet has a air for people relations and a vast amount of experience in managing projects of any magnitude. He is multi-skilled with an array of competencies ranging from stakeholder engagement, information technology, people management, negotiation and communication. He is known and trusted to be a star performer and he is able to pull teams together to work towards common goals. He has worked on several projects since he joined BCE Institute as the Managing Director. He has managed various projects including Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Customer Care Project DAFF Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), a UN organisation: 2012-2013; Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Mpumalanga Department of Education's School Governing Body (SGB) project: 2013-2015; DAFF Mega project (under ITS): 2014-2015; EWSETA Renewable Energy Project:2014-2015; Sibahle Communication Hamlet Basheng Entrepreneurship programme, NYS Orientation and Life Skills for the NYDA: 2013- 2014; Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the Managing Director MQA/AngloGold Ashanti Youth Development project 2013- 2015; EWSETA War on Leaks Project: 2015 to date. Olebogeng has recently been promoted to the Chief Operations Ofcer (COO). She brings fresh new ideas to the organisation. Her experience in brand management and communications at a major corporate makes her a valuable asset. She was an Assistant Brand Manager at Tiger Brands. At BCE Institute, Olebogeng was initially appointed as the Manager for Corporate Social Responsibility and in this portfolio, she implemented and coordinated a range of activities and initiatives designed to have a positive impact on the environment, local communities and staff alike. This led to her current studies in Social Entrepreneurship at the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). She is a founding member of Ntshole Foundation. Her current primary role as the COO is to oversee operations in all corporate services. This entails managing activities performed by various departments, i.e. Finance, Olebogeng More HR, IT, Facilities and Logistics. She also plays an oversight role in the Quality Assurance and Projects departments. Chief Operations Ofcer Olebogeng holds a B. Com in Marketing Management from the University of Pretoria and an Advanced diploma in Branding and Innovation from Vega School. 8
Valentia's experience spans over 30 years in the elds of quality assurance and skills development. Her expertise include accreditation, assessment, management of large- scale projects, monitoring and evaluation. Her grasp of the skills development environment provides clients with innovative and exible solutions for implementing skills development projects. Her responsibilities include applying strategic planning to determine company objectives; setting employee goals and objectives and developing staff to maximize potential; evaluating current business processes and systems; establishing and maintaining controls; formulating departmental policies and practices; facilitating the preparation and analysis of reports; reviewing performance data (nancial and activity reports) to monitor and measure productivity, goal progress and activity levels; conducting Valentia Mashigo monitoring and evaluation of the projects. General Manager Valentia possesses a series of qualications and certicates in Leadership Development, Organisational Development, Total Quality Management; School Management; Primary Teachers Course; University Education; Educational Management; Human Resources Management; Financial and Accounting Principles for Public Entities. She also attended courses on organisational score cards and the Quality Management System. She has held the position of a Deputy Principal at BB Myataza High School. She held senior management positions within Quality Assurance departments at ETDPSETA and LGSETA. She has also worked for Umalusi where she started the AET Accreditation unit. She has presented papers on AET Assessment and Accreditation at conferences nationally and internationally. She has also worked in the Monitoring and Evaluation unit of the QCTO. 9
Modiegi is a seasoned Education, Training and Development Practitioner with over 27 years' experience in the ETD and Human Resources environment including but not limited to project management, change management, competency proling, training needs analysis/skills audits, research, design & development of curricula and training materials, facilitation, assessment, moderation, coaching, mentoring, coordination, management, labour relations, recruitment and business development. She contributes valuable conceptualisation and corporate communications skills to our organisation with a speciality in project management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting. Her analysis and reporting are accurate, thoroughly researched and support well-founded conclusions. Modiegi has been involved in the skills development and Modiegi Kgokane project management consulting environment for 10 years. She is currently responsible for HR; Projects; writing reports, Senior Manager: proposals & presentations; Monitoring, Evaluation & Human Resources and Projects Reporting (MER) and Corporate Communication within BCE Institute. With constituent registrations that include Assessor and Moderator with ETDPSETA, SSETA and BANKSETA and qualications as a Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) and Training Materials Designer and Developer, her broad qualications and experience enable her to add value in a number of areas in the organisation. Her qualications are BA Education, BA Honours Economics, BA Honours African Languages, Masters Diploma in Human Resources Management, Diploma in Project Management, Certicate in Occupation Directed Education, Training and Development Practice (ODETDP), Certicate for Trainers, Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) Certicate. Her career cuts across various areas including the consulting environment, NGOs, the private and public sector. She was a university lecturer for six years and she has held various managerial positions in the training and R & D environment at Absa, PG Bison (Steinhoff Group), Stats SA, Standard Bank and Molteno Institute of Language and Literacy (MILL). She was also a Business Development Director, HR Director and a change management consultant. 10
Bakae's attention to detail, her drive for searching for the best solutions through systems and processes, her efciency, effectiveness and super administrative skills make her pivotal in the day to day operations of the organisation. She brings knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS); CCMA representation; database management; document control and management; budgeting and costing; monitoring and reporting; supply chain; ofce and facilities management, project coordination, OHS compliance and general administration. Whilst her recent experiences are with a private company, she has worked in different sectors ranging from hospitality, retail, social development, health, engineering and skills development. Bakae is a seasoned HR Specialist with extensive experience Bakae Mekgwe and knowledge of various regulatory laws/Acts, international best practice and mixed methods studies in all Manager: aspects of HR Development and Management. This is Human Resources and Projects augmented by the Honours degree in Public Administration and Management acquired from UNISA. She cut her teeth in conceptual, technical and methodological skills through working for local and international organisations which include Sun City Hotel; EDCON; FEST; SAASTA; UNDP SA; US Peace Corps SA; HDA and Mott MacDonald SA. Her current role involves overseeing Human Resources and Administrative functions She performs a supporting role in the Quality Assurance and Facilities Management department. 11
Hopewell's experience and ability to establish good interpersonal relations with stakeholders at all levels and his calm personality makes him key in stakeholder management. He manages projects by monitoring the respective project stages; ensuring that service providers are delivering as per their terms of reference; verifying and signing off deliverables; conducting the feasibility studies; checking if reports conform to the required standards; preparing the technical report timeously; arranging regular meetings with the stakeholders and conducting site visits. His strength in conict management is an asset. Hopewell has an IT qualication from Technikon Northern Transvaal (TNT) now known as Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). He enjoys working with setting strategies in the face of uncertainty and constant change. He worked Hopewell Majola as a consultant for big corporates in the nancial and ICT sector for a period of 14 years. Senior Manager: Projects He started his career in the ICT sector at Standard Bank as a Junior Programmer and later as a Systems Analyst. He teamed up with Accenture to develop the Basic Accounting System (BAS) that is currently in use at the National Treasury in South Africa to process payments for suppliers. He was a Board Member at United Manganese of Kalahari, a Director at Goedehoop Colliery and a CEO at Double Ring Mineral Resources. His experience ranges from developing systems for various clients to overseeing mine development. 12
Bernice offers a unique blend of expertise in project management, training and development combined with her experience as an Artisan. She previously held a position as Project Manager at Rand Water where she was part of the team that initiated the rst War on Leaks (WoL) project following its announcement at the SONA in 2015. She headed the training and development unit for WoL under Rand Water as the implementing agent. She worked for the Department of Higher Education and Training (INDLELA) as a Trade Test ofcial for 7 years where she held a dual role as a NAMB Industry representative for Goldsmith in 2013. She expanded her Artisan and Project Management knowledge by being appointed as the HEAD: Training Unit and managing MTEF projects for MINTEK. Bernice holds a Post Graduate diploma in Management Bernice Dickson Practices from Henley Business School, a degree in Project Management and a diploma in Jewellery Design and Manager: Projects Manufacturing from Tshwane University of Technology. She qualied as an Artisan-Goldsmith in 2005. She is a Project Manager for the War on Leaks (WoL) Project. Her responsibilities includer project planning, implementation and close-out. Debrah holds a National Diploma in Road Trafc and Municipal Police Management, National Certicate in Criminology and Victimology, Certicate in New Venture Creation Level 4, Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) Certicate, Leadership Skills Programme and Administrative Adjudication of Road Trafc Offences (AARTO) unit standard. She has been in the training space for the past 8 years, growing and gaining experience from different positions including Facilitator, Assessor, Training Coordinator, Moderator and Quality Assurance Specialist. She is registered as an Assessor and Moderator with various SETAs. She is currently managing the Quality Assurance department which is the core business of BCE Institute. Mpho's skills in data mining, analysis and integration ensure that whatever project we are involved in has accurate, relevant and on time data. Her organising skills and talent for coordinating information from different stakeholders makes her an important link in the project management chain. Her current portfolio includes managing and maintaining project records and documents; ongoing monitoring and evaluation of training undertaken, quality assurance of training and interventions for learners. She oversees logistical preparations for training; assisting management in developing, coordinating, monitoring and evaluating training programmes; track and report on learner progress on a monthly and quarterly basis; guide and support learners; facilitate coaching and mentoring of learners and ensure “on-the-job” training; liaise with relevant stakeholders; preparing and compiling reports and work Mpho Maile plans; providing general support and ensuring that projects Senior Project Coordinator are completed on time and within budget. She is also responsible for travel coordination and planning of the projects. She serves as the Company's SDF (Skills Development Facilitator). Mpho has a Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing as well as Labour Recruitment Consultancy Certicate. She is currently studying towards a Certicate in Occupationally Directed Education and Training Development Practices (ODETDP NQF Level 5) with The Institute of People Development. She has extensive experience and a background in technical recruitment, project coordination & management and training & development which she has acquired while working for Rand Water, the Bidvest Gro 14
Mxolisi's consulting and auditing experience makes him an important cog in the Finance and Supply Chain department. He oversees various nancial and accounting functions by ensuring that BCE Institute meets its nancial strategic objectives. His experience includes auditing and consulting for various State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) such as Transnet, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), South African Bureau of Standards (SABS), South African Post Ofce (SAPO), Denel, Auditor General South Africa (AGSA) and other government departments. He has worked for the PG group as part of the graduate program, working within the management accounting department. He was selected for the IBM SA leadership internship, where he interned in the Business Partners department. Mxolisi Nkutha Mxolisi holds a B. Com in Finance from the University of Johannesburg, a Certicate in Social Entrepreneurship from Senior Manager: Finance GIBS (Gordon Institute of Business Science). He is currently completing his PDM (Post graduate diploma in management) specializing in Monitoring and Evaluation at the Wits School of Governance. He is also currently registered with CIMA (Charted Institute of Management Accountants) to complete his CIMA CGMA designation. He is a member of SAMEA (South African Monitoring and Evaluation Association) and CIMA (Charted Institute of Management Accountants). 15
Martha is constantly evaluating the efciency and effectiveness of the processes and systems within the company. She plays a consultative role and always makes suggestions for improvement in the company. Her 8 years' experience as an Internal Auditor and Senior Internal Auditor and her knack for remaining inquisitive in an ever- changing audit and business environment makes her a key resource in the organisation. She is responsible for the internal auditing processes of the company, nancial management & accounting and plays a supportive role in the Quality Assurance department. Her work involves maintaining a register of all contracts and administering them in terms of the agreements, supplier verication and validation, variance analysis and reporting. Before joining BCE Institute, she worked as a Financial Administrator at Norah FET and an Accountant at Cross Over Holdings. Martha-Jean Necodemus Martha holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting Science Internal Auditor from UNISA, a Higher National Diploma in Accounting from Bulawayo Polytechnic, a Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Bankers in Zimbabwe and a Certicate in Business Administration from Oxbridge Academy. She is also a registered Assessor with LGSETA. Tshiamo has impressive extensive experience in Administration and Finance within BCE Institute. She has a National Diploma in Local Government Finance acquired through Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). She is currently registered with Boston Business College for a National Diploma in Business Management. Her duties at BCE Institute include capturing and proofreading learners' data; receiving and handing over of documentation and Portfolios of Evidence (PoEs) from facilitators after a training exercise is complete; uploading of learners' data once the Portfolios of Evidence have been assessed and moderated; preparing learners data for issuing of Statements of Results (SoRs) and Certicates; providing general support in the proposal development process, including budgets, workplans, research and reports. Tshiamo Selepe Project Administrator 16
Tamia studied engineering drafting and construction with Rosebank college, which is valuable in her interaction with artisan colleges. She also has impressive experience in computer aided drafting and end user computing. She is currently studying towards an ofce administration course with IQ Academy. Her duties include capturing, proofreading and quality assuring learners' data; receiving and handing over of documentation and Portfolios of Evidence (PoEs) from facilitators after a training exercise is complete; uploading of learners data once the Portfolios of Evidence have been assessed and moderated; preparing learners data for issuing of Statements of Results (SoRs) and Certicates; providing general support in the proposal development process, including budgets, workplans, research and reports. Tamia Mangena Project Administrator Keneilwe's prior experience as a receptionist makes her a highly organised administrative professional who pays great attention to detail. She was part of an NGO (Bohlale ke Pheko) whose main objective was to provide an educational service to the youth on moral philosophy/ethics. She possesses a National Diploma in Civil Engineering from Vaal University of Technology (VUT). She is currently studying towards a B. Accounting Sciences in Management Accounting through UNISA. She is a Project Administrator whose core functions are to maintain quality of project records and documents, including learner and service providers contracts; conduct basic research; provide general support in the proposal development process, including budgets, workplans and research; assist the Project Managers in developing, coordinating, and implementing training programmes, Keneilwe More presentations and workshops, and compiling reports. She is also the SHE Representative which requires her to investigate Project Administrator employee complaints about health and environmental issues and take them up with the management. She also participates in internal safety, health and environmental audits. 17
Hlatlogo's well rounded pleasant personality, willingness to assist at all times, dedication and her positive attitude generally makes her role critical as a team player in both the administration and social responsibility teams. Her extensive experience in working with children in the capacity of caring for and shaping the next generation, as a craft teacher, a tutor, a chaperone and child minder for 24 Hour Production's hit SABC 2 sitcom: Ga Re Dumele has shaped her into a calm and patient young person. Her experience in content creation, curation of online content, the management of the social media pages for Big Five Duty free and her artistic nature has enabled her to bring innovative ideas to the team. She has dabbled in hospitality and events managing her own Airbnb briey. Hlatlogo's duties include capturing and proofreading learners' data; uploading of learners' data once the PoEs Hlatlogo Moagi have been assessed and moderated; compiling and packaging Statements of Results (SoRs) and Certicates; Project Administrator conducting basic research; assisting the Project Managers in developing, coordinating and implementing training programmes, presentations, workshops, and compiling reports. Hlatlogo is a striving green educator, advising many on the management of waste and teaching others how to be eco- friendlier in their daily lives. No task is too small or too big for Thabo. His sense of urgency and the ability to follow through and see a task to its logical conclusion makes him an important part of the administration and quality assurance teams. His duties as a Project and Quality Assurance Administrator among others include maintaining project records and documents, conducting basic research, providing general support in the proposal development process and workshops, conducting monitoring & evaluation and compiling reports. His experience as a Basic Life Support Ofcer (Medic) at Med24/7 comes in handy in his duties as a rst aider and a re marshal. Thabo has a Certicate in Business Practice Management from Pretoria Technikon and a Certicate in Basic Life Support from Bokone Bophirima Ambulance Training College. He worked as a General Shop Assistant at Score Supermarkets, a Piper, a Railway and Ventilation Installer at Thabo Mosome Impala Platinum Mines. He also worked as a Bus Driver at Ditshepiso Transport & Tours and a Stationery Driver at Project Administrator UNISA. 18
Zandile's vibrant personality eases her ability to relate to clients, learners, service providers and colleagues. In addition to her duties as a project and quality assurance administrator, she coordinates staff social functions and wellness activities as part of the social responsibility team. Her current duties include maintaining project records and documents; conducting basic research, monitoring & evaluation; providing general support in the proposal development process, including budgets, workplans and research; assisting Project Managers in developing, coordinating and implementing training programmes, presentations and compiling reports. She is also responsible for the ordering and distribution of stationery. Zandile studied Marketing Management at Tshwane University of Technology.
