S c h o l a r s h i p s t h e r s H e a l i n g t o O i n g t o B r i n g Tra i n Mark, 20, grew up in Western Ukraine, the eldest of seven children. Now he’s in his third year of study at Rivne’s Economics and Humanities University, training to become a Psychologist. While attending school, thought a lot about choosing the right profession, one that would really help other people. By the time was nishing school, the con ict in Eastern Ukraine had just started, Mark explains. Thousands of people died, and many other people were physically and psychologically affected. t was a tragic time, which unfortunately continues to this day. As a Christian have the privilege of knowing the One who can heal broken souls and minds. felt God was drawing my attention to these people. Thousands of people in Ukraine are suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). These are Ukrainian soldiers, refugees, and families who lost friends and relatives. People who survive the war nd it very dif cult to adapt back to normal life. There s a huge need for specialists who can provide counselling, therapy and treatment. Still, my father told me that Mark nothing s impossible for God. m so thankful to both my parents for their example of unlimited cheerfulness and optimism, Mark shares. For several years we ve been enrolled in the Mission s family sponsorship programme and the Coordinator, Pavlo, knows us What the Children Say very well. One day he called me and offered me a scholarship. was thrilled. We re studying modern and secular psychology, but our university stands up for traditional moral values, which is very important to me as a Christian.
