WELCOME AS LOCKDOWN CONTINUES OUR AIM IS TO INSPIRE HOPE FOR OUR CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE. It’s February Half Term and we want young people to enjoy the holidays. In this holiday programme, we’re providing young people and families information about how to stay safe and healthy with a focus on both physical and mental health support and opportunities. We are also sharing a wide range of online activities both in and around Newham, and further afield in order to ensure there are activities for every age group and interest. For those who want to continue learning over the half term there are lots of free resources and lessons covering many subjects from Early Years to Year 11 available at: www.thenational.academy This programme shared with you via your school, will also be available to access online: www.newham.gov.uk/ActivitiesForYoungPeople I hope you will give some of the activities a try. This is also a great moment for me to tell you all about 2021 Newham Year of the Young Person. For the first time ever, Newham is dedicating the year to young people and 2021 will be about raising HOPES and CELEBRATING our young people. We want to amplify young people’s voices and increase young people’s participation in all we do. Therefore, the majority of programme organisers will be offering online activities only. Booking activities /events Please make sure to check if the event or activity needs to be pre-booked. If yes, please book your spot early, as even online events often have limited spaces.
