Sonju Trail - This non-motorized paved trail runs from the Two Harbors Lighthouse in Agate Bay to Burlington Bay, following the shores of Lake Superior. Grab a picnic lunch to enjoy along the way, as you enjoy this leisurely stroll by the lake. Donald D. Ferguson Lake County Demonstration Forest - This beautiful trail is located 8 miles north of Two Harbors on the Drummond Grade. It offers 4 miles of signed hiking and snowshoeing loop trails with 21 points of interest along the route and connects with the Superior Hiking Trail. Superior Hiking Trail - This 300+ mile trail runs from Jay Cooke State Park to the Canadian Border, with two trailheads in a 6 mile radius of Two Harbors. This well constructed foot trail runs through various state parks and includes beautiful lookouts and rustic camping along the way. Find more information at: www.shta.org. Gitchi-Gami State Trail - Upon completion, this will be an 89-mile paved, non-motorized trail between Two Harbors and Grand Marais. Over 29 miles are complete, with the longest 14-mile section beginning in Gooseberry State Park and ending in Beaver Bay. Keep up with trail progression and view trail maps at www.ggta.org. Agate Bay provides enjoyment for all. Take a stroll down the breakwater while you watch a 1,000-ft Ore Boat cruise into the docks, visit the Lighthouse, or launch your boat to take it out for a evening fish. Burlington Bay is a great place to stop, picnic and skip rocks, all while taking in the majestic nature of Lake Superior. A six-mile section of the Superior Hiking Trail starts in town and winds its way along the Knife River. BEAVER BAY Beaver Bay was the first established community on the North Shore.
