2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES HELLO AND WELCOME! NOCN Group is a leading Education and Skills Charity, an ethical employer, a registered charity and a successful business. This document lays out the fees and charges relating to NOCN, the Awarding Organisation part of the group. Please see our website for our other products and services: www.nocn.org.uk. 2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES BECOME A CENTRE To deliver NOCN qualifications, an organisation must be recognised as an NOCN Centre. To apply to become an NOCN Group Centre, please get in touch: • Email: business-enquiries@nocn.org.uk • Call: 0300 999 1177 • Complete a New Business Enquiry Form: https://www.nocn.org.uk/contact/ Once we have received the enquiry, applicants will be guided through the Centre Recognition process by a member of the NOCN Group Business Development team. This begins the process of Centre Recognition. BENEFITS OF BELONGING Read about the benefits of being an NOCN Group Centre here. CENTRE RECOGNITION The NOCN Centre Recognition Quality Assurance process assesses an organisation’s ability to deliver high quality training, to the standard required by NOCN Group and its Regulators. • STAGE 1 - APPLICATION FEE: £250 - this fee is non- refundable and will be invoiced at the commencement of the Centre Recognition process. • STAGE 2 – CENTRE SET UP FEE: If you have been approved as an NOCN Centre, a one-off fee of £350 is charged to cover the initial Quality Assurance visit and the centre set up administration costs. These fees may be negotiated depending on certain criteria being met, please contact the NOCN Group Business Development Team at business-enquiries@nocn.org.uk ANNUAL CENTRE FEE Centres are invoiced for the Annual Centre Fee at the start of the Academic Year. New centres will be invoiced the Annual Centre fee on final approval, pro-rated for the remaining period of the academic year. Annual Centre Fee: £500 Recognised Centres pay the fee to facilitate the provision of an on-going range of services: • Quality assurance • Systems and administration • Customer support • Training, events and webinars • Standard centre visits • Annual reviews 3
2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES QUALIFICATIONS UNITS AND ICV PRICES Centres are invoiced per learner at the time of registration. This fee includes the certification cost. This is the same for both construction and non-construction qualifications. An invoice will also be raised if a learner is subsequently registered for and achieves over and above the initial registration. VOLUME DISCOUNT Discounting will be applied on all qualification, unit and ICV purchases, in line with the discount bands below, if prior academic year sales total more than £16,000. The discount is calculated as follows: • £16,000 – £31,999 = 5% discount • £32,000 – £54,999 = 10% discount • £55,000 or greater = 15% discount The discount will be calculated based on income achieved in the 20/21 academic year, based on the above discount thresholds. 2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES TABLE OF CONSTRUCTION TOP UP FEES A top-up fee is charged when a learner who has completed a qualification and received a certificate wants to extend this to a larger qualification from the same specification suite. Please note that the below fees are calculated on the basis that both the initial and the top up registrations are processed in the same price list year (1st August 2021 – 31st July 2022), otherwise additional fees may apply. No administration fee is payable. 2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES DIGITAL SUPPORT VLEARN NOCN Group is delighted to introduce vLearn, a virtual learning environment which brings learning to life. vLearn has been created in partnership with Olive Group, a global Education Technology Organisation and features a live virtual classroom, ePortfolio, tutor support materials plus hundreds of digital materials to support the delivery of qualifications and apprenticeships. Fair usage policy in place. vLearn custom virtual classroom for 100 attendees - £100 per month per classroom. Microsoft Teams excluded - managed separately SITERIGHT NOCN offer a range of standardised assured short courses in a range of subject areas. Courses are written in conjunction with industry partners and are designed to be CITB grant fundable. 2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES OTHER SECTOR PRICES REGULATED QUALIFICATIONS Learner registration and certification charges are combined into one charge, for all levels and types of qualification, for better value. INTENDED CREDIT VALUE PRICES You can register learners for a course that may not lead to a full qualification by registering against the Intended Credit Value (ICV), useful if a group has diverse needs or you need flexibility to build a course. NOCN invoices per learner based on their ICV. If they over- achieve, NOCN will invoice at the end of the course at the higher level. 2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES FUNCTIONAL SKILLS Functional Skills qualifications are £18.50 per learner, and we offer Entry Level to Level 2 English/Maths/ICT. Resits for Maths and ICT are charged at the full fee per learner. For English individual components can be retaken independently, resits are charged at £9.25 per learner for either Reading or Writing. Resits for Speaking Listening and Communicating are free. FUNCTIONAL SKILLS ASSESSMENT FEEDBACK REPORT PRICES Functional Skills external assessments at Levels 1 and 2 are marked by Examiners; Centres can apply to receive an External Assessment Feedback Report, focused on skills areas, mapped to Functional Skills Standards, Coverage and Range. The Principal Examiner (PE) reports on learner development requirements and outlines specifics. Separate reports are provided for English reading and writing; completed by subject specialist PE. The following reports can be requested: • Re-marking: £30.00 • Re-marking and Feedback Report: £40.00 • To request a Functional Skills Report, please email: nocn@nocn.org.uk ESSENTIAL DIGITAL SKILLS Essential Digital Skills qualifications at Entry Level 3 and Level 1 are £25 per learner. Resits are charged at the full fee per learner. 8
2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES OTHER COSTS & CHARGES There are additional costs that are not included in the standard range of services: REMOTE INVIGILATION OF EXAMS We have put together a range of packages and pricing options for our remote invigilation solution to suit your centre needs. NOCN Group Invigilated • Single learner invigilation by NOCN Group, for any online qualifications • NOCN Group centre can book via NOCN Group system • The cost if £15.00 per 30 minutes, charged per 30 minutes Centre Invigilated • Singe learner invigilation by a centre nominated employee, for any online qualification* • The centre can plan and manage in their own time. • The cost is £180 for a period of 6 months, per concurrent invigilation and can be paid easily on via the NOCN Group hub by credit card. NOCN Group Invigilated – Observed, Record & Review • To a maximum of 20 learners, at the same time, for any online qualification* o 20 learners maximum, multiple-choice test o 10 learners maximum, complex test • The NOCN Group invigilator observes the learners completing the test using Calibrand record and review. • The centre can reserve their invigilator date and time, via NOCN Group system • The cost is £10 per learner plus £15.00 per 30 minutes, charged per 30 minutes Centre Invigilated – Observed, Record & Review • To a maximum of 20 learners, at the same time, for any online qualification* o 20 learners maximum, multiple-choice test o 10 learners maximum, complex test • The centre nominated invigilator observes the learners completing the test using Calibrand record and review. • The centre can reserve their invigilator date and time, via NOCN Group system. • The cost is £10 per learner plus £15.00 per 30 minutes, charged per 30 minutes *Excludes all security qualifications, SIA do not permit. **Any online qualifications as approved by NOCN Group *** NOCN have published expectations on screen size to number of learners ratio to prevent unsuitable observation. Remote Invigilators and Observers need training from NOCN/watch the training videos before they can conduct their role. 9

2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES PAYMENT AND AVOIDING UNNECESSARY CHARGES To avoid unnecessary charges, Centres should contact NOCN Group at the earliest opportunity with any issues, questions or concerns regarding invoicing and payment. • Contact your Customer Experience Team • Email nocn@nocn.org.uk or call on 0300 999 1177 As per your funding contracts with the Education and Skills Funding Agency, it is your responsibility to use this funding to cover the costs of registration and certification for learners. Where Centre accounts have balances overdue, we withhold the right to put registration and certifications on hold until accounts are cleared. LATE PAYMENTS Where invoices are not paid in accordance with agreed Terms and Conditions, NOCN Group reserves the right to charge: • A fee of 8% above the Bank of England Base Rate • A compensation fee, proportionate to the size of the debt, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998: Size of Debt Charge Up to £999.99 £42.00 £1,000 to £9,999.99 £74.00 Over £10,000 £105.00 LATE REGISTRATION Repeated late registrations may incur a discretionary charge per learner: £10.00 MISTAKES OR CHANGES Any learners registered in error due to centre error will incur a £8.00 + VAT administration charge to cancel or amend the registration. This fee also applies if a Certification error needs to be corrected prior to printing. CANCELLATION CHARGES AND REFUNDS • NOCN will not charge a fee for the withdrawal of learners. • The original registration fee is not refundable. 11
2021/22 FEES AND CHARGES REPLACEMENT CERTIFICATES Correction of Certificate prior to Printing: £8.00 + VAT The cost for a replacement Certificate is: • NOCN/Cskills Awards Unit £10* • NOCN/Cskills Awards Qualification £20* • OCN certificate issued pre 2007 £42.00 This is paid on application to NOCN, to cover administration, search and production costs. If the certificate is not located, a refund is provided of £21.00 *Cskills Awards Certificates cannot be produced prior 2014 but a letter of achievement will be provided instead International postage may incur additional fees. 12
