The year 2022 will be exciting and, above all, active. Visitors can look forward to sporting
highlights, tradition and culture, and many new and innovative venues.

The 50th anniversary of the Olympic Games in Munich
The Festival of Play, Sport, and Art in July 2022 is just one of the highlights of the 50th
anniversary of the Olympic Games in Munich. Throughout 2022, exhibitions and programs all
over the city will recall the spirit of optimism and visionary design of the serene Games, the
fates of the victims, and the personal stories associated with the Munich Olympics and invite
new encounters.

European Championships Munich 2022 (11th – 21st August 2022)
Nine European Championships under one roof: The European Championships are Munich's
largest multi-sport event since the 1972 Olympic Games. More than 4,700 athletes from all over
Europe compete in the Olympic sports of beach volleyball, canoe racing, climbing, athletics,
cycling, rowing, table tennis, triathlon, and gymnastics. Competitions in para canoe and para-
rowing complete the diverse sports program. In addition to 177 exciting medal decisions, visitors
can look forward to "The Roofs" - the festival of diversity and surprise rounds off the event to an
unforgettable experience.

and mining machinery sectors, as well as construction vehicles and equipment. Furthermore,
topics like CO2 reduction or the path to autonomous machines will be the main emphasis.
Newest information will be exchanged and discussed at the numerous trade show booths, and
during live presentations, discussion panels, and lectures.

The Macherei
The Macherei is located in the east of Munich. This building is a place to create ideas and
realize new concepts. Working and inspiring exhibition rooms for art and culture create space to
develop future projects. With an area of 16,500 square meters, the Design Offices of the
Macherei offer various possibilities for working with individual as well as team offices. In March
2022, the new "Scandic Hotel" will open in the Macherei, bringing Scandinavian and sustainable
hotel business to the Bavarian capital. With its innovative design, the 4* hotel with 234 rooms, a
restaurant, and a rooftop bar with a view of the Alps, which will initially be bookable exclusively
for closed events, fits perfectly with the brick look of the Macherei.

DO & CO Hotel incl. FC Bayern World
The five-story FC Bayern World between Frauenkirche and Munich City Hall combines a three-
story FC Bayern Fanstore with the directly adjacent boutique hotel, which opened its doors in
Summer 2021. The 30 rooms and the exclusive penthouse loft suite are based on the club's 31
championships and thus combine international flair with the famous Bavarian charm. The world
of experience is rounded off by the two DO & CO restaurants: a locally oriented eatery on the
first floor and an internationally inspired restaurant on the second floor.

Gasteig HP8
In the fall of 2021, the Gasteig moved and became the Gasteig HP8. While the well-known
cultural center on Rosenheimer Platz is being renovated, its extensive cultural offerings will find
a new home on the grounds of Stadtwerke München at Hans-Preißinger-Strasse 8 (HP8) in
Sendling.

Motorworld Munich
Motorworld München is a hotspot for vehicle enthusiasts with the most versatile event areas on
75,000 square meters of the former Freimann railroad repair works in the north of the city. From
vintage cars and rarities to modern luxury automobiles and motorbikes, car and motorcycle lovers
will find everything their hearts desire here. Automotive treasures can be housed and presented
in exclusive glass boxes. Motorworld München, with its specialized workshops, high-quality
accessory stores, and varied catering establishments, is open to the public free of charge all year
round. Motorworld also combines 22 conference rooms and four multifunctional event locations
with capacities ranging from 440 to around 6,000 guests. Also included are the venerable Zenith,
the Dampfdom, and the Kesselhaus.
Conference guests can stay on the premises in the 156 hotel rooms, suites, and studios of the
AMERON Munich Motorworld. With gaudy 1960s and 1970s car paints and original steel girders
from the old engine hall, the four-star property reflects the theme of mobility. The AMERON is
part of the Althoff Hotels and includes gastronomic highlights; the hotel's restaurant, BACiO della
Mamma, stands for family hospitality in the style of a cozy Italian trattoria. A Vitality Spa gives
hotel guests an unobstructed view of the Lokhalle.

Science Congress Center Munich
In 2021, the Science Congress Center Munich opened. The new congress center is the
centerpiece of the "Galileo - Neue Mitte Garching" and is located directly at the
Garching-Forschungszentrum subway station. The congress center has a modern and bright
atmosphere with 2,400 square meters of event space. The heart of the SCCM is the Audimax,
with 1,300 seats and daylight. Its unique acoustics, equipment, and ambiance are impressive. In
addition, the auditorium can be divided for events with up to 570 guests. In addition, there are 14
individually configurable event rooms, ranging in size from 55 to 280 square meters. Ideal for
catering, banquets, and exhibitions are the 1,600 square meters of the SCCM foyer. With state-
of-the-art sound and event technology as well as free WLAN, the Science Congress Center offers
stress-free events in an atmosphere characterized by science.

The SCCM is located near the A9 motorway between Munich Airport and the city center. The
Garching Forschungszentrum subway station is located directly below the Courtyard by Marriott
Hotel Munich Garching and next to the SCCM. In addition to the 256 rooms at the Courtyard,
there are approximately 159 apartments available at the Stellaris Apartment Hotel. Delegates

Werksviertel-Mitte at Ostbahnhof
The Werksviertel combines living, housing, and working innovatively. In the middle of Munich
and perfectly connected to the existing infrastructure, a new district is being created at the
Ostbahnhof station, which is characterized by vision and innovation. Around 1,150 apartments
will be built on the 39-hectare site in the coming years. In addition, 7,000 jobs will be created in
the Werksviertel.
Werksviertel-Mitte is located in the heart of the Werksviertel and covers an area of around 10
hectares. It is home to the Umadum Ferris Wheel, the Container Collective, and, in the future,
the BRSO concert hall. Residential space, offices, a concert hall, a hotel, and gastronomy
facilities. A well-thought-out social infrastructure and sports facilities form a symbiosis with the
surroundings and its users. As an overnight accommodation option directly after an event at the
Tonhalle, the TECHNIKUM or the WERK7 theater, the gambino Hotel, newly opened in 2021, or
the Adina Hotel Munich are perfectly located in the Werksviertel-Mitte.
