What inspired the cover design?
‘I see what you mean (Mr Delhaes laughs). The trapeze
lines are carved into the front cover and are slightly rem-
iniscent of a vehicle engine hood. The front cover has
been kept simple and is shaped by the shadows of the
trapeze lines. These two tapered contours are, after all,
the hallmark of CLAGE devices, which is why they were
incorporated into the new design. The use of sophisti-
cated materials also takes its cue from car interiors; take
the velour-chrome display frame, for example, and the

High-quality, state-of-the-art apartments measuring

domestic ventilation systems with heat recovery, as well
as underfloor heating and electronic external blinds,
ensure agreeable and comfortable living in the 48 resi-
dential units. All of the bathrooms are fitted with a walk-
in shower.
The seven buildings meet the requirements of the KfW
55 Efficiency House standard and each feature a Nibe
F2120 heat pump in conjunction with a buffer tank. Hot
water is supplied on a decentralised basis in each indi-
vidual apartment using the WS-Hybrid home transfer
station from CLAGE. Each home transfer station in-
cludes an electronically controlled instantaneous water
heater with an output of 13.5 kW to ensure electrical
reheating of the water. As a result, residents can benefit
from the efficiency of the heat pump whilst still enjoy-
ing a convenient hot water supply. The desired temper-
ature can be easily set using the push-button controls
of the instantaneous water heater – and the water is
always available immediately and in limitless amounts at
just the right temperature.
