Nature Day Camp Adventures for ages 3-16 Summer 2021 Online Registration begins Tuesday, March 2 at 8 am
Chippewa Nature Center is excited to welcome campers back to Nature Day Camp! More than any other summer in recent history, our children need to be immersed in nature to support their health and well-being. Our staff look forward to connecting them with their peers and supporting their growth as individuals. While some aspects of camp will look different due to COVID-19 protocols, the mission of building lifelong, meaningful relationships with the natural world remains at our core. The wild, natural ecosystems Community mixed with a caring, passionate staff set the formula to support children to learn and grow while advocating for happy, healthy childhood experiences. Share this brochure with the children in your life and help them imagine the opportunities a week at camp might present for them kayaking the river, frogging at the pond, stomping in mud puddles and making new friendships. Registration Procedure Registration begins Tues, March 2 • 8 am Information Needed for Registration User ID – If you are a CNC member or have registered for camps or programs, you have a user ID. If you have a family Health Concerns or Special Needs membership, your child will qualify for a 20% discount; be sure We strive to provide a positive experience for all campers, and to log in to receive it! Half-Day Camps Budding Naturalist Series Three independent early childhood camps created for campers to develop a deep love and understanding of nature through unique Nature Tots explorations, dynamic projects and PLAY! Full-Day Camps-2 Weeks Chippewa Rangers 8-10 year olds $380 ($304 for CNC Members) Date Time June 14-18 & 21-25 9:30 am-3:30 pm July 12-16 & 19-23 9:30 am-3:30 pm Come experience camp at its best! Campers will spend two weeks exploring nature, building friendships and choosing which activities interest them the most. An all-day hike, a canoe trip under the Tridge and an evening program at the Homestead Farm are some of the highlights of this session. *Please note: Pick up will be at 8 pm on Wednesday of the second week. Advanced Chippewa Rangers 9-11 year olds $390 ($312 for CNC Members) Date Time Campout* July 5-9 & 12-16 9:30 am-3:30 pm July 15 July 26-30 & Aug 2-6 9:30 am-3:30 pm Aug 5 This one-of-a-kind camp gives kids the opportunity to dive into many topics at CNC with special adventurous experiences. A live raptor presentation, astronomical activities, exploration of Native American culture, a river trip in kayaks and overnight camp out at CNC’s Homestead Farm make this two-week adventure one you won’t want to miss! Eco Adventures 10-12 year olds $395 ($316 for CNC Members) Date Time Campout* July 19-23 & 26-30 9:30 am-3:30 pm July 28 Wilderness survival, wildlife ecology and Leave No Trace skills are all part of this adventure program! Spend two weeks learning more about the environment and how to care for it, all while having fun kayaking down the river, exploring the far off areas of CNC, and using your new outdoor skills! The camp experience culminates in a two-day paddling trip and campout upstream on the Chippewa River. Adventure Trips Adventure Trips provide important opportunities for campers to learn Canoeing the B ig Manistee new skills, explore new places, and build friendships under the care of 12-14 year olds $430 ($344 for CNC Members) professional, supportive trip leaders. Strap on a pack and set out for adventure with this unique backpacking trip in the Northern Lower Peninsula.We’ll spend the week along the high banks of the Big Manistee River searching for signs of animals, listening for wildlife and learning many outdoor skills. Each day, we will backpack to a new campsite, sharing riddles, stories and laughter along the trail.You will remember this adventure for years to come! 10
