42021 PART 2 - QUALIFICATION DECLARATION
If the dog ran in a National Team in the preceding year then it 'pre-qualifies' with no need for other points. Write
"National 2019" in the first best place box on page 4.
Additional entries will then be ranked on the basis of the best positions obtained by the dog at Open Qualifying
Trial within England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, and associated islands within a defined qualification period. The
Rules for Trials specify that:
An Open Qualifying Trial must have been advertised either on the ISDS website for at least a week before
the trial, or in the local agricultural press with publication on a date before the trial. The wording for
Ireland is slightly different, but means the same thing, but if you are from the South the agricultural press
is defined as the ‘Farmers Journal’ only. The trial must be open to all with no unreasonable restriction or
qualification, either geographical or in any other way. A minimum of 25 dogs must compete and the course
must be a National style course that includes a drive element.
The requirement for advertising applies only to points gained since 30 January 2011. The qualification period of 3
years is the same for each Nation being 01 June 2018 to 31 May 2021.
You are asked to list up to three best placings, down to sixth place, at Open Qualifying Trials within the qualification
period in descending order. For example, if the dog has three 'Firsts' you will write "1st" in all three boxes below
along with the trial name, venue and date. If two 'Seconds' and a 'Fifth' then write "2nd", "2nd" and "5th" in
successive boxes. Places lower than sixth do not count.
To assist you, we award 6 points for Ist, 5 for 2nd, etc… and add the total. The total points will be used to set a
'cut' for entry to the trial. If you have only one placing at 6th or better, write that in. If you write nothing, we
will award no points.
