Mercedes-Benz AG MTC Specifications 1/2 Version 005 Preamble For standardized procedures at the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim MTC (Mercedes-Benz Technology Center) locations and their affiliated locations, the supplier shall ensure that deliveries fully comply with the following specified processes, content of delivery notes, delivery note data communication and parts identification. This is the basis of automated receipt of goods, parts identification and parts tracking in MTC engineering sections. The supplier can generate delivery documents in the required form through the internet using the Daimler Supplier Portal. The application can be used to generate the parts identification tags, delivery notes and EDI delivery note. Besides the following provisions, the conditions contained in the current Mercedes-Benz Special Terms apply. These are available on the Daimler Supplier Portal: http://supplier-portal.daimler.com/. Daimler supply specifications are also an integral part of the agreement. Note: This translation is for the purpose of easier communication only. The German version shall prevail above all others. 1 Scope of Application 1.1 Scopes The MTC Specifications 1 /2 is valid for all parts deliveries to MTC (Mercedes-Benz Technology Center) at the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim locations, VAN R&D Center (VTC) and their affiliated external locations and external warehouses. Deliveries of “Parts-Tools” are subject to the same form of delivery note and EDI delivery note conditions as for parts deliveries. 1.2 Period of Validity MTC Specification 1/2 Version 005 supersedes Version 004 of MTC Specifications 1/2 with effect from 2021-01-01. 2 Goods Deliveries 2.1 Deliveries to MTC Deliveries of parts to MTC shall always be via the main goods receiving section at the Sindelfingen or Untertürkheim plants (details are given in the delivery address in the order). The supplier shall guarantee that initial incoming goods receipt takes place at the main goods receiving section at the location. This shall also apply to personal deliveries. Material shall be addressed to the receiving area specified in the order. Changes in the receiving area are only permitted if agreed with the component manager (shown in the order as the orderer). In general, the latest version of MBST 29 (Mercedes-Benz Special Term) “shipment of goods” has to be considered. 2.2 Deliveries to Third Parties Where deliveries of parts ordered by MTC are delivered to third parties, e.g. prototype manufacturers, the supplier shall send the EDI delivery note to the organizational unit of the orderer. The supplier shall also ensure that the goods receiving section of the third party signs the delivery note and notes the quantities received. The signed delivery note is to be sent to the orderer. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Author: RD/RBL Page 2 Valid from: 2021-01-01
Mercedes-Benz AG MTC Specifications 1/2 Version 005 2.3 Free Deliveries If parts are delivered free of charge to the MTC, the supplier is bound to ensure that the goods are provided with the appropriate delivery documents and that they bear the supplement “Free delivery". If the free delivery is based on an order number, this shall also be noted. If there is no order number for the free delivery, the figure "9" shall be noted on the delivery documents as the order number, meaning free delivery. 3 Product Identification for Parts Every individual part delivered has to be labeled by the supplier in accordance with MBN 10535 (Identification of Preproduction Series Parts). This applies to all parts delivered to the MTC, i.e. also for series production parts. MBN 10535 provides for component parts to be labeled with an adhesive label or, where this is technically not possible (for example body-in-white parts, small parts…) with a goods tag. MBN10535 can be downloaded from the Daimler Supplier Portal "supplier.daimler.com". Example of parts identification: Fig. 1: Parts identification with an adhesive label Fig. 2: Parts identification with a goods tag If deliveries have a required version number (body-in-white scopes), a goods tag with a data matrix code shall be used. In addition, observe the specifications in the standard. To ensure the code is machine-readable, the matrix code described in MBN 10535 (MBN 10535 Supplement 3 – Data Matrix Code Specification) shall be used. ________________________________________________________________________________________________ Author: RD/RBL Page 3 Valid from: 2021-01-01
