Debs School News Mount Anville Montessori Junior School MAPPA Inspiring It has been another fantastic year Careers Programme in Mount Anville Montessori Junior lunch-time speakers School; here is just a taster of some of 2016/2017: the highlights… We hosted our very first STEM Law: Clare Feddis, Christina 3rd Class Play Golf (Science, Technology, Engineering & Moran, Sorcha Whelan Mathematics) week in January and with help from the whole school Psychology: Elaine Kelly, Melrona community, we had an action packed Kirrane weeks of workshops, science fairs, demonstrations, presentations, to name Science: Ciara O’Higgins, Seonadh but a few. O’Leary May Procession STEM The Music Department had a very Physiotherapy: Lorraine Hanrahan, eventful year, with the highlight being Chloe Meehan the senior school winning the Taney Marketing & Event Management: Cup at the Wesley Interschool’s Rachael O’Higgins, Grainne Music Festival for their rendition of O’Malley Somewhere over the Rainbow. The Sport and Family Fun Day School Orchestra were also busy Tennis Healthcare: Gillian Crowe, practising the ‘007’ theme tune and Margaret Gallagher, Emma Star Wars. McMorrough Sports commenced every morning at 8am, wind, rain or shine. All the girls from 2nd to 6th class played hockey in their PE class. We entered three STEM teams into the Leinster tournament, one of which won the Leinster Hockey Plate. Two tennis teams made it to STEM the Leinster final. Golf featured also, receiving two trophies from the AIJS and Castle Schools competitions. We had a fabulous Sport and Family Fun Day in May where the rain stayed away… the whole school community made this day a tremendous Hockey success for everybody. We finished the year with the Mass Procession and the Crowning of Our Lady, it was a beautiful sunny morning and it was the perfect end to another great year in Mount Anville Montessori Choir Junior School. photo credit Orla Comerford, orlacomerford114@gmail.com, 0872365771 Saturday 12th November saw the Class of 2016 celebrate their Debs Ball in the Pavilion, Leopardstown. In keeping with MAPPA wishes the girls every success and happiness in the future. We are delighted that so many Class of 2016 girls Mount Anville Senior School tradition, the girls, their parents and escorts were welcomed have joined MAPPA – it’s the best way to keep in touch and back to the School by teachers and staff for a reception their to meet other past pupils of Mount Anville.
