Our NEO look was inspired by the spectrum of
50 light in a marine environment, capturing how
light bends in water and creating reflections
from within in a not-so-obvious way. The
Class Map COLOR.ME techniques of our BANG BANG
collection were designed to complement the
exploration of shape, texture and movement of
the haircuts and styles.

Typically, Generation X mixed and matched these influences,
equalising gender, sexuality and class codes. We didn’t believe the
hype of the ’80s — we wanted to identify differently and, most
importantly, uniquely as our own generation.”

THE COLLECTION
Over the last few years, our education collections
have explored diversity and choice across the
disciplines of cutting, colouring and styling. In
2020, we continue to help your clients who are
searching for individuality and self-expression.
Conscious that we are about to enter a new
decade, we want to explore new ideas of self while
reflecting on the influence of the 1990s, a decade
when we began to play with what fashion and
identity truly meant. No longer just a “uniform”,
fashion became a form of influence.
We named this year’s collection BANG BANG to
represent the ’90s pop-culture moment that saw
the rise of unconventional artists like Banksy, set
to a Britpop soundtrack. Britpop was the
trans-Atlantic antidote to grunge, and bands like
Oasis, Suede and Blur were at the forefront,
presenting different images but all sounding very
Britpop. In early-1990s London, there was a rebirth
of British mod culture. The BANG BANG collection
shows echoes of mod and dandy plus a bit of the
BEHIND
swinging ’60s Carnaby Street, but we are casting
forward.
BANG BANG is true to our brand’s identity and
our direct relationship with the fashion world.
It allows you to explore references from the
BANG BANG
past 30 years that can easily be translated
into exactly what your clients crave.

BANG BANG
COLOUR
Mastering simplicity was our approach with this year’s colour techniques. We wanted to make
bold statements with looks that pushed the envelope effortlessly while being completely
wearable. Rich earth tones of Rose and Copper were melted together to highlight the unique
texture of each model’s hair to create more dimension between light and shadow. We paired
clever, understated techniques with creative colours inspired by the depths of nature and then,
using that palette, created natural variations of multi-tonal saturation.
OUTCOMES: Understand precision and free-form colour, and build on your existing skills combined with
COLOR.ME techniques and recipes. This is a technique-based class that will allow you to explore the
infinite possibilities of line, form, texture and shape in colouring and how to use those COLOR.ME
techniques to compliment your haircuts and styles in the salon.

CUT
Reflecting the attitude of an editorial-based brand,
our BANG BANG haircuts represent aesthetics inspired mostly
by ’90s street culture. Aware that we are entering a new decade,
we looked back for inspiration from iconic fashion and movements
throughout history. The cuts live somewhere between K-pop and
Britpop, with fringes, longer sides and a Mod feeling. Each haircut
has been created with the wearer in mind. The cuts are truly
adaptable, genderless and unique, regardless of the length.
OUTCOMES: Learn how to cut to the curve of the head and understand
how to manipulate the natural texture and movement of hair regardless
of the length. In 2020 we are looking at how hair is transitioning through
different lengths from short to long, how layers and graduation have
changed, and how to personalise your cuts to enhance colour techniques
