MONDAY MAKE-UP DAY
We will hold four Monday Make-up Days this school year: October 4, December 6, March 7, and May
     2. On these days students will be released at 1:00pm to visit with teachers regarding missing
assignments, grades, etc. Releasing students at this time should also allow our bus students an
opportunity to meet with teachers before catching their buses. Buses will run on their regular
schedule. Our administration will be emailing additional information to parents regarding Monday
Make-up Days. Please contact the school at 801-794-6740 with any questions.

     FOR ALL MMHS ATHLETES:
The Especially for Athletes assembly will be held during 2nd period on Wednesday the 6th. This is an
invite only assembly so you will need to sign up with the attendance secretary in the office. You will
not want to miss this. We will be on our regular bell schedule not an assembly schedule.

     CHROME BOOKS
We wanted to remind students to please bring their chrome books to class each day, charged and
ready to use. If students forget their chrome books they may need to call home to have it brought to
     them

The October Driver Education class will start on Thursday, October 7th at 7:00 PM in the MMHS
auditorium. Students are required to attend the parent meeting as it is their first class and are encouraged to
bring at least one parent. The meeting will last until about 8:00 PM. Class will then be held every school day
from Friday, October 8th until Thursday, November 4th from 6:00 – 7:30 AM in room E-202. Class will not be
held on October 14th – 15th (Fall Break) or Friday, October 22nd (End of Term). For those enrolled in the class,
we will start each morning at 6:00 AM. Don’t be late. Bring your permit and something to write with on
Friday, the 8th. Enter through the doors to the right of the flag pole, (by the cafeteria), go down the “E” hallway,
and up the stairs to room E-202.

welcome to attend. It is a great presentation that all adults and teens can benefit from. It will be held on
Thursday, October 7th in the MMHS Auditorium. It begins at 7:00 PM and will end about 8:00 PM.

     #Eagles4Ethan
We are doing a fundraiser for Ethan Oldham. It will be held October 4th-8th. Ethan was recently diagnosed
with cancer and is going through treatments right now. We are trying to do activities that will help raise money
for the expenses that come with cancer. Spread the word to everyone so we can help him out! Student Council
will also be selling #Eagles4Ethan wristbands all week. We have adult and child sizes.

Many of the clubs and organizations are making Baskets to be sold at the Silent Auction. Thanks for all your
support with this. The Bryson Strong Foundation is also supporting our fundraising efforts.

UVU CONCURRENT ENROLLMENT
Now that students are registered for their concurrent enrollment classes, it is important to be sure
they have paid their tuition to UVU. Please help your student log in to their myUVU account and pay
the balance of their tuition as soon as possible. This will help them avoid issues when it is time to
register for Spring semester classes. All tuition payments are to be made to UVU online. We don't
take concurrent enrollment payments in our MMHS finance office. If your family is unable to make the
tuition payment due to financial struggles, please have your student visit with Mrs. Dunn about filling
out a scholarship form for concurrent enrollment tuition assistance.

Utah College Application Week
MMHS Counselors & Higher Education Reps from around the state will be visiting senior English classes on
Wednesday, October 6th, and Thursday, October 7th to work with senior students as they apply for post-

days. Students and parents may visit the College Admissions page on our MMHS Counseling Website. If you
have any questions, please email your counselor.

                                      Registering For the AP Exam
                                  *Deadline: Wednesday, November 10th
* It is time to start the registration process for the AP Exams. The exams will still be given during the first 2
weeks of May, but the registration is happening much earlier in the school year. Please make sure you follow
all of the steps, and pay attention to the deadlines so you don’t get stuck paying the late fee.

To Register for an AP Exam:
   1. Create an account at myap.collegeboard.org . Many teachers use AP Classroom to give assignments
for test review so it is important to use an email address you can easily access.

   2. Join your AP Class Section using the join code that your teacher gives to you and change your exam
      status to Yes.

   3. Pay for the exam. The cost for each AP exam is $96. You can pay this by logging onto
myschoolfees.com. There is a link on the school website at mmhs.nebo.edu. We recommend that you
pay the entire amount when registering. However, there is the option to pay a $40 deposit before the
November 10th deadline, with the remaining amount due March 4th.

*All of these steps must be completed to be registered for the exam.

*After the November deadline there is a $40 late fee.

*March 4th is the absolute final deadline for registering. No exams can be ordered after this date.

** If you need help, or have any questions please see Miss Mattinson in the Library.

MMHS Attendance Information
If your student is mistakenly marked absent or tardy in a class, please have your student visit with the
teacher of that class, as soon as possible, requesting the teacher fix the attendance mistake. Mrs.
Davis (attendance) cannot remove or change something a teacher has marked, she can only excuse
their absence or tardy. If your student is late to class, be sure they sign the Tardy Log in the
classroom to ensure they are only marked tardy and not absent. Also, parents cannot excuse a Sluff.
Students or parents who would like more information about why their student received a Sluff may
contact the teacher who assigned the Sluff. Thank you! Any questions please contact Cheryl Davis,
our attendance secretary. To leave a voicemail for Mrs. Davis please call 801-794-6740 and
select option #1, then option #2. You may email Mrs. Davis at: cheryl.davis@nebo.edu

PTSC Corner
Our Parent Teacher Student Club is already in full swing planning events to support our school,
hoping to make it the best school year yet!

What does the PTSC do? Some of the things we do for students include: sponsoring a monthly
student service club, awarding yearly scholarships to graduating seniors, coordinating Val-o-grams,
and providing financial support for various student activities. We show our love and appreciation to
teachers and staff by providing PTC dinners, monthly appreciation, birthday treats and teacher/staff
appreciation week.

How can you get involved? We can’t do these great activities without the support of our parents in
the community. You can join for $5 per person or $10 per family. All proceeds stay in our school!
Dues can be paid through myschoolfees.com under the optional student fees tab or the finance
office. We will also post opportunities for help or donations throughout the year. We still have
committee co-chair positions available, including President-Elect, Teacher Appreciation Week, and
Senior All-Night Party. If you have interest in serving as committee co-chair or help on a committee,
please reach out to Angie Workman utdaisy@yahoo.com, or any other board member. We are
looking forward to another great year!
