V102: Truro Treat Weekend in Truro Home Whenever Nancy Carlsson Paige wanted to get her boys away from the playing video games, she always brought them here: to beautiful, wholesome, undigitized Truro. That sand on the beach? That’s real, not pixels. Those creatures swimming by? Real seals, not avatars. And that MMOG (massively multi-player on-beach game) going on? That’s called picnicking. After you’ve enjoyed the quaint, private, bayside beach, simply cross the street to this lovely Cape home. With 4 double beds, 2 single beds, 2 trundle beds, 2 full baths, and 2 half baths, there’s plenty of room for family and friends—even elves and hobbits. Marinate in the bay. V103: New Hampshire Lake View Home 5 Days at Lake Massasecum Bradford Home The state motto “Live free or die” was first uttered by a colonialist teenager on this lake. And 2 baths means no waiting! Outside, there’s swimming, kayaking, a hammock to cradle in by the lake, and a treehouse (allegedly built by the Swiss Family Robinson). Fun for the whole family! The fine print: Dates to be arranged with Cindy Taft between 6/14 and 10/14. Winner to pay a cleaning fee of $100 and leave the house in reasonably clean condition. Vacation Home Fundraiser Procedure The response to our vacation home fundraiser has been quite brisk. Several questions have been asked and we thought it would be helpful to share the answers with our community. 1. What time on February 3rd are you taking the bids? Offers will be accepted at 12:01am Monday, February 3. 2. Can a person make an offer on more than one home simultaneously, in case their first choice has been taken? Yes, list the homes in order of priority, and indicate that you are interested in only one home. Of course, if you would like more than one home, please indicate that as well. 3. Are you accepting offers by text or by email or by phone? Email to deanna@fayerweather.org or call 617-876-4746 x718. You can also stop by after start of school and see one of us in the Development Office. 4. Is the price fixed according to the descriptions, or can people make an offer higher than the price listed? The price listed is the price you need to give to “win” the home. Of course, if a donor wishes to donate above this price, the school welcomes your support and generosity. Once you pay, you’ll receive the details on how to contact the donor. 5. Are any of the homes being sold more than once? At this time, each donor has offered their home once. However, if a home is especially popular, the Development Office will make note of people’s interest and ask our donors if additional weeks/weekends can be made available. 6. How will the community know a particular home is still available? Click on the “Vacation Homes” button on our homepage for updates.
