VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED TRAINING (VILT) MECHANICAL SEALS: TROUBLESHOOTING AND MAINTENANCE Selection, Applications, Operation, Troubleshooting and Maintenance 26 - 29 JULY 2021 4 half-day training, 4 hours per session (total 16 hours) GLOBAL LEADER IN POWER & UTILITIES TRAINING
DELIVERY OF VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED TRAINING (VILT) The VILT will be delivered online in 4 half-day sessions comprising 4 hours per day, with 1 x 10 minutes break per day, including time for lectures, discussion, quizzes and short classroom exercises. Additionally, some self-study will be requested. Participants are invited but not obliged to bring a short presentation (10 mins max) on a practical problem they encountered in their work. This will then be explained and discussed during the VILT. A short test or quiz will be held at the end the course. COURSE OVERVIEW This 4 half-day VILT will provide a comprehensive understanding of the various types of mechanical seals and other methods of sealing rotating equipment including conventional packing, condensate injection sealing, and floating seal rings. The focus of this course will be on mechanical seals including their classification, balanced and unbalanced mechanical seals, stationary and rotating mechanical seals, single or double mechanical seals, industrial mechanical seals, U-type mechanical seals, double mechanical seals, tandem mechanical seals, bellows seals, and installation of mechanical seals. This course will also provide detailed description about the installation of mechanical seals, pre-installation checks, environmental control of mechanical seals, and the reasons for mechanical seal failure, remedies and refurbishment. The on-site failure analysis of mechanical seals, inspection of mechanical seal components, corrosion and erosion of mechanical seal components will be covered thoroughly. The physical inspection of o-rings, and gaskets, rotating and stationary faces, as well as description, symptoms, causes and corrective actions of mechanical seals rotating and stationary face distortion, erosion, carbon blistering, heat checking and vaporization will be covered in-depth. This course is a MUST for anyone who is involved in the selection, applications, or maintenance of mechanical seals because it covers how this equipment operates, the latest maintenance and refurbishment techniques, and provides guidelines and rules that ensure the successful operation of all types of mechanical seals. In addition, this course will cover in detail the basic design, operating characteristics, specification, selection criteria, advanced fault detection techniques, critical components and all preventive and predictive maintenance methods of mechanical seals in order to increase their reliability and reduce their operation and maintenance cost. This course will provide the following information for all types of mechanical seals: Basic design Specification Selection criteria Sizing calculations Suitable applications Codes and standards Common operational problems, causes and remedies All diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, maintenance and refurbishment methods ___________________________________________________________ W: www.poweredgeasia.com
