LEARN ENGLISH PLAY FOOTBALL “THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIFETIME” This is how many of our students have described their English and Football camp. Our intensive two-week camps are crammed full of activity and education, providing a spring or summer study-break in England that will be remembered forever. FOR 8-17 YEAR OLDS Each morning students receive football coaching from the world-famous Manchester United Soccer Schools. No matter what their ability, they undergo a comprehensive course covering technique, tactics, physical, mental and social elements of the game in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Our students never forget learning to play the United way! Afternoons are allocated to English lessons, delivered using our customised football-themed syllabus. Students are grouped according to ability so that they can all improve quickly. The interactive sessions cover grammar and vocabulary but also place a large emphasis on conversational English. After an evening football session there’s a chance to socialise and enjoy activities with students from across the globe. This is a great opportunity to experience different cultures and gain social confidence. Accommodation in one of our carefully selected regional centres completes the experience along with various activities and excursions. We want to thank sincerely all personnel of the camp, especially teachers and trainers, and also cooks! My son has so many fine memories! And the photos are so beautiful! We wish you good luck in everything! And thanks for such interesting excursions. Elena Kaporskaya, 2013 (mother of Bradfield student) Student welfare is a top priority. MUSS understands the needs of young people travelling away from home. In liaison with the Manchester United F.C.’s Children’s Services Officer we have dedicated teams to care for all young players on and off the field in a safe and secure environment. From the time they arrive, to when they are packing their bags on the last day, our students are well looked after, motivated and happy. They discover England, stay active and speak English - the perfect combination for a study break. MUSS2014_brochure_EFL_AGENT_12pp.indd 3 07/10/2013 14:40

Lessons are delivered in an interactive, task- based manner using the latest classroom technology. Well-qualified, enthusiastic teachers with native-level language skills motivate and engage students throughout the sessions. At the start of each camp all students take a short language test which is used to place them in an appropriate class. At the end of the camp, students take home their workbook to show parents and friends what they have learnt. Each student receives an individual assessment from their tutor with advice on how to further develop their language skills. All the students should be able to see a clear improvement by the end of the camp. The project work carried out by students in our most advanced classes helps to prepare them for examinations such as; IGCE, IELTS, Trinity, and ESB. The focus on communication skills helps to prepare students for the full range of Cambridge and Trinity examinations. MUSS2014_brochure_EFL_AGENT_12pp.indd 4 07/10/2013 14:41

PASTORAL CARE Taking care of your children is our number one priority. We aim to provide every child with the support and reassurance he needs. We know that for many children this is the first time they have been away from home. The first day or two can be anxious for both children and parents. This is why we have three teams of staff on our camps to provide different types of care at all times. MUSS COACHES Coaches look after the children throughout the football coaching programme, and travel with them on some excursions, including Old Trafford. ENGLISH TEACHERS The teaching team looks after the children in the classroom, and assists the pastoral care team at other times - early morning, at meal times, on excursions, and at bedtime. PASTORAL CARE TEAM The team looks after the children at all other times. Pastoral carers live in the same accommodation as the children and are on call 24/7 for any problem that arises. They are accessible to every child and ready to provide help, advice and reassurance whenever needed. Every pastoral care team includes at least one qualified physiotherapist to deal with minor injuries or illness. TAKE THE MEMORIES HOME! As well as returning home with an English language workbook and Manchester United Soccer Schools football kit, every player receives a mounted colour photograph of his training group and coach.
