Les Canalous is a family affair. In the 1980s, when commercial shipping gave

On the River Charente the locks are manual, and one person will need to operate the lock while
another drives the boat. We do not, therefore advise these cruises for rst timers, or people with Saintes
reduced mobility or young children.
Because of the risk of oods, cruising is hard to guarantee in the Charente during the Spring and TGV
Angoulême TGV
the Autumn. If your departure is made impossible because of these oods, we will offer another
itinerary if possible.
