Contact: Sheila Kenny (859) 551-3002 skenny@centralbankcenter.com LEXINGTON OPERA HOUSE ANNOUNCES NEW 2022-23 SEASON – GET ON YOUR FEET! – FOR A NEW SEASON OF SENSATIONAL SHOWS LEXINGTON, KY (May 19,2022) – The Lexington Opera House has revealed the nine-show 2022- 2023 Season of Broadway Live and Variety Live through a digital announcement at noon today; the virtual broadcast announcing the new series can be viewed in its entirety at www.lexingtonoperahouse.com. The combined season lineup features five national touring Broadway musicals, two locally produced Broadway musicals, one cabaret-style concert and a classic children’s show. The new series kicks off with Broadway’s funniest new musical, TOOTSIE (October 21-23, 2022), followed by the best-loved musical of all time, ANNIE for six fall performances (November 3-6, 2022). A brand new musical from the Lincoln Center Theater, ON YOUR FEET! will inspire audiences (January 20-22, 2023), followed by Lerner & Lowe’s classic MY FAIR LADY (March 17- 19, 2023). Finally, celebrating its 50th anniversary, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR will perform six performances just before Easter (March 30 – April 2, 2023). Variety Live 2022-23 begins this summer with two Lexington Theater Company productions, Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID (July 14-17, 2022) and CHICAGO (August 4 – 7, 2022). The Lex’s signature event CONCERT with the STARS returns on January 7, 2023. Finally, Disney’s iconic WINNIE THE POOH takes the stage for children of all ages (January 13-14, 2023). “Every show on our new season is jam-packed with unforgettable music, spectacular dance and creative storytelling at its very best,” said Luanne Franklin, Central Bank Center Director of Performing Arts. “This is a season designed to get Broadway lovers on their feet with shows ranging from comedies to classics and appealing to all ages. We have a Broadway season to lift your spirits and bring you joy!”
Season tickets for the Broadway Live series are available by phone at (859) 233-3535 or www.lexingtonoperahouse.com. Season ticket plans start at $215 per seat with monthly payment plans available. Renewals start on May 19th through June 17th. “Due to popular demand, season ticket availability is limited this year – so don’t delay!” Franklin said. “New season tickets can be purchased starting June 30th – September 2nd, or while supplies last,” she continued. “If you love and appreciate musical theatre, it makes so much sense to become a season ticket holder and enjoy the benefits that come with it “Season ticket holders enjoy the best prices, get the best seat selection before tickets go on sale to the general public and enjoy multiple payment options and the lowest handling fees. Other benefits include the flexibility to exchange performances in the event of a schedule conflict. Best of all is the great personal service that has become an integral part of the Broadway Live experience.” Season ticket holders also have the chance to buy additional tickets to Broadway Live shows at a 10% discount and in advance of the general public on-sale date. In addition, season ticket holders will have the first opportunity to purchase tickets to Variety Live presentations. The Broadway Live series will present five performances of each title. A sixth performance on Thursday evening at 7:30pm has been added to two shows this year. Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 7:30pm. The Sunday evening performance is at 6:30pm. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 1:00pm. Season ticket prices range from $215-$395. The websites lexingtonoperahouse.com and Ticketmaster.com are the official online sources for tickets to performances at the Lexington Opera House. Buying directly from these ticket outlets guarantees the authenticity of tickets. The Lexington Opera House will continue to follow guidelines recommended by state and local health officials for the safety of audience members, performers and staff. Protocols will be available on the Opera House website and ticket holders will receive a message with any updated requirements prior to each event.
