Learning Management System Proposal May 21, 2020 Allan Wamsley, Interim CAO Anastasia Luettecke, Senior Instructional Designer
What Urged This Action? • Jefferson College has used Blackboard since 2010, after Blackboard acquired WebCT, our previous solution, requiring we switch. • Blackboard was privately purchased in 2011 by an investment firm. • Concerns were expressed through shared governance that students and faculty would benefit from changing to a different system. • Market share for learning management systems (LMS) has changed significantly over the last few years. • Competitive RFP process will reduce yearly license cost for the College.
