Whether you are a gardening expert, new to gardening, interested in wellness topics,
looking to flex your artistic muscles while you connect to nature, or wanting to explore
nature with your family, Olbrich Botanical Gardens is the perfect place for you to relax,
slow down, and deepen your connection with nature. We invite you to check out our
incredible variety of in person and virtual learning opportunities for all ages, interests,
and skill levels. Featuring 16 acres of outdoor gardens and a tropical conservatory,
talented instructors, inspiring subject matter, and fun social connections, we welcome
you to experience something new at Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

In addition to classes, there are endless opportunities for you and your family to
connect with nature and plants at Olbrich. Here are just a few highlights:

   Ÿ Relax with family and friends as you enjoy live music on Olbrich’s Great Lawn.
     Olbrich’s Summer Concert Series occurs every Tuesday at 7 p.m., June 14 – August 16.
   Ÿ Learn about the Herb Garden, Thai Garden and Pavilion, and interesting
     insects from Olbrich’s talented docents on weekends and select weekdays.
   Ÿ Explore the endless possibilities of designing containers to enhance your landscape.
   Ÿ Visit the Herb Garden to learn about the Indigenous Garden, which highlights
     plants important in Native culture and the intersection of food in culture,
     traditions, and history.

Are flowers overrated? We often focus on the
spectacular blooms of perennials and annuals, but
good garden design requires more than attention
to flowers. Foliage is a necessary component

 Garden and Nature Community Reading Group
 Dreams and Designs: Gardening in Harmony with the Environment
 Join other garden and wildlife enthusiasts to discuss books and ideas about gardening, plants,
 nature and the environment in the Garden and Nature Community Reading Group. This reading
 group is a partnership between Olbrich Botanical Gardens, Steenbock Library, the UW Arboretum
 and Schumacher Farm Park. The theme for our 2022 fall series is Journeys into Nature. We will
 be reading and discussing two award-winning books on the human experience in the natural
 world. All discussions are free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to read the
 selected book prior to participating in the discussion. Books are not supplied but are available at
 Schumacher Library, partner libraries, and the Madison Public Library system.

Together classes are a great opportunity for parents or caregivers to
spend quality time with their children. Classes are designed for you
to explore nature-themed topics side-by-side with your child as they
