Message from the Executive Director I am honored to serve as the Executive Director of the Kentucky Rural Health Association, and it is my privilege to welcome each of you to our conference this year. Due the current circumstances related to COVID, our board of directors, again decided in the best interest of you as members, and attendees, at this year’s conference, to host it virtually. Our conference committee has been working to provide you with the best content related to the health issues of rural Kentuckians, and the providers that serve them. Our goal as an association is to ‘Improve the health of Rural Kentuckians.’ To say that 2021 is less of a challenge then 2020 is an understatement. It seems this year is as much, or more stress to the communities we serve-just due to the uncertainties we face each day. Thank you to all our committees. They work diligently to provide the best possible experience for each of you our members. I would like to ask you to consider being part of a committee. It takes a team of dedicated volunteers to sustain an association such as ours. Accomplishments for this year include: • Legislative Day-Virtually. • Policy Manual Revision (In process). • Social Media Campaign to Highlight Members (In process). • KHAMP (Kentucky Hepatitis Academic Mentorship Program) had another successful year, we have to date trained over 320 providers to test and treat for Hepatitis C. • US-HAMP (United States Hepatitis Academic Mentorship Program) we have been able to replicate our “foundational model (KHAMP)” to other states. We hosted a summit to educate other states with high rates of Hepatitis C, as well as onboarding states. Thank you to each of you for attending, and I hope to see you become more involved. We always need individuals dedicated to the issues facing Rural Kentuckians.
