WHO CAN REGISTER FOR THE VACCINE? As of the 1st March, 2021, the following groups of people are eligible to get the vaccine: Frontline healthcare Citizens who are Citizens who are 45 years workers 60 years and above. and above, and have comorbidities A medical certificate from a doctor will be required in this case. What are comorbidities? A comorbidity is the presence of two or more medical conditions in an individual. For example, a person with diabetes and high blood pressure is said to have comorbidities. WHEN CAN EVERYONE ELSE GET THE VACCINE? Once the high-risk groups as mentioned above have received the vaccination, it will be available to everyone else. Once you log in to the Co-WIN tab on the app or on the website, you can follow these steps: 1 LOG IN WITH THE OTP SENT TO YOUR PHONE NUMBER. 2 REGISTER YOURSELF AND/OR UP TO 3 OTHER PEOPLE WITH YOUR PHONE NUMBER. 3 FILL IN ALL THE REQUIRED DETAILS IN THE FIELDS PROVIDED. 4 CLICK THE REGISTER BUTTON. 5 SCHEDULE YOU DATE, TIME AND VACCINATION CENTRE. 6 SCHEDULE CAN BE EDITED/CANCELLED LATER IF REQUIRED. 7 RECEIVE APPOINTMENT CONFIRMATION VIA A DOWNLOADABLE FILE AND SMS. 8 SHOW UP FOR YOUR VACCINATION ON THE APPOINTED DATE AND TIME. Here is the list of documents you can use as proof of identity when you arrive at a vaccination centre: AADHAAR Card PAN Card Driver’s License Voter’s ID Passport Pension Card Health Insurance Official IDs issued by Bank/Post Smart Card MPs/MLAs/MLCs Office Passbook Service ID issued by Central/State Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Government /Public Limited Companies Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) You will find everything under one roof at the centres. Your ID will be checked, the vaccination will be administered, and you will have a place to rest for half an hour aer taking the vaccination. NOTE: Sometimes there might be a delay in receiving the OTP or confirmation details. This could be due to an overload on the system, so have a bit of patience and try again in a little while Caution: There is no Co-WIN app, beware of fake apps that might be trying to obtain your data. THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND Feet When visiting the centre for your vaccine, make sure to wear your mask and maintain social distancing of 6 feet. Carry a hand sanitizer and use it aer you touch any objects like pens, furniture, etc. You will need to wait at the centre for half an hour aer you receive the vaccine. Inform the medical staff/nearest health authorities if you experience any pain or develop a fever in the days following the vaccination. To prevent spread of the infection, it is safer if you remain isolated while you have the disease and only take the vaccine at least two weeks aer you have fully recovered. Q. Will I be informed when my second dose is due? A. Yes, an SMS will be sent to you informing you of the date for your second dose. Q. Can I take the vaccine while on other medication? A. The vaccine is not known to react with most drugs and is safe to take even with other medication. However, you could check with your doctor first if you need any clarification. Q.
