Library News Student Librarians The student librarians – Mia Pinkerton, Anieke Parkin, Amelia Ferguson, Emily Mellsop and Eryn Foster went out yesterday for their end of year celebration. They went to several places including the Schrodinger's Book Shop in Petone (Mrs Wright's favourite shop) and chose a picture book and a chapter book for the school library. They all had to read a number of books at the shop and chose books that would appeal to many children. They chose very well! They also went to the War Memorial Library for a tour and activities. Mrs Wright would like to thank the Student Librarians this year for helping her run the library. Chess We had a sunny day last Friday for Chess Club, so we decided to play on the chessboard outside. The children enjoyed playing the chess game in teams and we have decided we will do this more often in the future. We are continuing Chess Club again in 2021 and are looking forward to taking the children out to chess tournaments within the region. We have a large club with over 20 children. Any child who wants to join the Chess Club next year from beginners or children who know how to play, please join up in Term 1 2021. Library Books A friendly reminder that all school library books are now overdue and need to be returned ASAP. The school library will be closed from Friday 4th December.
