Welcome to the 2021 American Family Insurance Championship! Dear Volunteers, Welcome Back! We are so excited to be able to bring the 2021 American Family Insurance Championship back. We thank you for your support through these unusual times. We appreciate your time and dedication to ensure a successful PGA TOUR Champions event. While it may be different than it has in the past, we look forward to having you share in the celebrating the tournament’s 5th anniversary. Your efforts and hard work help make Madison one of the premier stops on the PGA TOUR Champions tournament schedule; along with contributing to fundraising efforts for the Steve Stricker American Family Insurance Foundation and the American Family Children’s Hospital. This handbook is designed to serve as a guide and includes important information related to your responsibilities for the week. Please review before each shift and use it as a reference while you are on the course. You will likely be asked questions and this handbook should help you respond to these inquiries with confidence. We look forward to working with you throughout the week and celebrating a successful event after we crown our fifth tournament champion. It is great to see all of you again. GENERAL INFORMATION ADMISSIONS/WILL CALL Admissions will be located at the Main Entry Gate. There will be NO will call services available this year. SPECTATOR SEATING AREAS As previously announced, public bleacher seating will not be available on tournament grounds. Fans are encouraged to bring chairs and sit in ways that help ensure physical distancing throughout all 18 holes. CAMERA AND CELL PHONE POLICY Spectators will be allowed to carry mobile devices on the golf course with the volume setting on silent or vibrate. Devices may be used to capture video, audio and photos (content) throughout tournament week. Content may be used for personal purposes only; no commercial use. There can be no live streaming or real-time coverage. Please be respectful of play and do not interfere with players, caddies or media. Failure to comply with this policy may result in the revocation of your ticket. PUBLIC CONCESSIONS AND RESTROOMS There will be numerous concession stands and restrooms located throughout the golf course. No food and beverage can be brought into the tournament. Concessions and restrooms are located at these locations: 4Clubhouse 4 Hole 2 4 Hole 6 4 Hole 14 4 Hole 17 4 Hole 18 CLUBHOUSE AND ALLIANT ENERGY PAVILION The Clubhouse and Alliant Energy Pavilion will be open to the public and do not require and upgraded ticket.
COURSE EVACUATION Players, caddies and officials will follow the evacuation plan provided to them by the starter. Standard bearers and walking scorers should follow the same procedure as players. DISABILITY SERVICES 4Accessible parking available at the course 4Must have state-issued hang tag visible 4Carts are available to shuttle patrons from parking to the main entrance and from the main entrance to the 1st Tee or 18th Green. FIRST AID First Aid provided by UW Health Sports Medicine will be located behind the 2nd Tee and 14th Green. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY 4 Survey the scene (check for potential danger). 4 DO NOT move the person. Make sure he or she is comfortable without moving him or her. 4 Avoid touching the person unless absolutely necessary. 4 Contact the nearest marshal, security officer or medical staff member. If not available, locate the nearest volunteer with a championship radio. 4 Detail the exact location of the emergency (i.e. golfer’s right on 17th Green). 4 Stay at the scene until emergency personnel arrive. KIDS/YOUTH TICKETS Children 17 and under admitted free when accompanied by ticketed adult. LOST AND FOUND/MISSING PERSONS Lost and found will be located at the University Ridge Golf Course Pro Shop. MERCHANDISE Merchandise is available for purchase at The University Book Store Merchandise tent located at the 14th Green or in the University Ridge Pro Shop.
MILITARY/FIRST RESPONDER ADMISSION Complimentary tickets are available to active duty, reserve, retired military members and all veterans. Thanks to SERVPRO, all first responders are also eligible for complimentary tickets. DAILY PAIRINGS Tee time information and starting holes for each player will be made available daily. Parents with small children are allowed to bring strollers and diaper bags. These items are subject to reasonable inspection before entering and/or at any time during the tournament.
PUBLIC PARKING The American Family Insurance Championship will offer free general admission parking for all patrons offsite and free bus shuttles to the Course. Please continue to visit the tournament website at www.AmFamChampionship.com for the most up-to-date parking information. SAFETY TIPS 4 Please use sunscreen to prevent sunburn. We also recommend sun glasses and a hat. 4 Increase fluid intake on warm days. 4 Reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake. University of Wisconsin Courtyard SEVERE WEATHER PLAN In the event of thunderstorms, lightning or other severe weather, “Weather Warning” information will be displayed on the electronic scoreboards around the golf course. When these warnings appear, spectators are advised to take precautions and seek shelter. If the siren sounds suspending play, seek shelter immediately. The electronic scoreboards will keep spectators advised as to the length of the delay in play; however, in the event of severe weather and lightning, the safest location is your car. FOLLOWING ITEMS ARE PROHIBITED. Firearms, large cameras, video cameras, radios, signs, banners, flags, coolers, beverages, step stools, backpacks, and large packages. CELL PHONES ARE ALLOWED BUT MUST BE SET TO SILENT MODE. Free WiFi – available at the main entrance, clubhouse, pavilion, 15th hole, 17th Hole and 18th Hole. ALL SMALL PERSONAL CARRY ITEMS WILL BE SUBJECT TO INSPECTION AT THE GATE. UNAUTHORIZED ITEMS WILL BE CONFISCATED. AUTOGRAPH POLICY: Our PGA TOUR players can’t wait to see guests back on-site, but please understand, for the health and safety of everyone on property, no handshakes, fist bumps, autographs, photographs or selfies are permitted at this time.
WEATHER WARNING & SUSPENSION OF PLAY If inclement weather is approaching, a “Weather Warning” notification will be posted on all electronic scoreboards on the course. When this message appears, spectators are advised to take immediate precaution by evacuating bleachers and hospitality tents. In the event of a “Severe Weather” warning and a suspension of play, please proceed to the parking lot and return to your car. A suspension of play is preceded by an air horn signal. Suspension of play is a stoppage of play, not necessarily a cancellation of play for the day. Notification of continuation of play will be given in each parking lot. In the event of a weather warning, please avoid: • Hilltops • Golf Carts • High Places • Wire Fences • Isolated Trees • Open Areas If play is suspended please close your umbrella and seek shelter immediately. PLEASE NOTE • Play will continue as long as deemed safe • Corporate hospitality will remain open every day, rain or shine • Staff and Volunteers will inform spectators on any changes made to this policy • Spectators are encouraged to visit the tournament website for weather notifications
VOLUNTEER INFORMATION VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN LOCATION All volunteers are required to check in prior to their shift. Volunteers arriving at the course should proceed to Volunteer Headquarters near the main entrance and check in at the designated desk. This process helps us know you have arrived and allows you to get your volunteer meal tickets for the day. Once you check in, you can proceed the Hy-Vee food area. You will receive a “To Go” meal before you proceed to your work area where you will check in with your committee chairperson. If an unexpected emergency occurs and you will be arriving late or must cancel your shift, please call Volunteer Coordinator Gail Perla at (414) 333-1594. A list of all on-site telephone numbers can be found in this guide or your chairperson will also provide the best number to reach them. VOLUNTEER UNIFORMS All working volunteers will wear their volunteer shirt, hat and jacket as needed, complimented by your own khaki pants or shorts. NO CARGO PANTS OR JEANS ARE ALLOWED. You must wear your full uniform at all times while you are working. Your chair has the right to request that you leave if you are not in the proper uniform. VOLUNTEER PARKING Volunteer parking will be located on site at University Ridge Golf Course Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Volunteers will present their “V” hangtag to security at the gate. Wednesday-Sunday, Volunteers will follow the electronic signs to the designated off-site location of Madison Bible, 2920 N County Rd M, Verona, and will be shuttled to the championship’s front entrance. Once on site, please proceed to the Volunteer Headquarters tents located at the golf course main entrance to check in for your shift. VOLUNTEER CREDENTIALS Each volunteer will receive one Volunteer Badge which is good for access to the grounds all week long, even on days when you are not working. Please write your name in the white area on your badge. When working, you are required to wear your full uniform AND badge. Your Volunteer Badge will provide you access to restricted areas necessary for working volunteers via the access codes. Simply wearing your badge will NOT, however, grant you access to Volunteer Headquarters. You must be in full uniform and wearing your badge to be permitted into Volunteer Headquarters. PERSONAL ITEMS AND STORAGE There is NO location for storage of personal items at the tournament. We recommend anything of value be left at home. You will be provided a small backpack to hold your belongings, snacks and water bottle through-out the day. Please do not leave items at Volunteer Headquarters unattended. Any items left unattended will be delivered to Lost & Found at the Pro Shop. ALCOHOL POLICY For the safety of the players and spectators, volunteers are NOT permitted to consume alcoholic beverages prior to or during their work shifts. NO alcoholic beverages are permitted in Volunteer Headquarters at any time. Meal Vouchers may NOT be used toward the purchase of alcoholic beverages. If you plan to be a spectator after your shift and consume alcohol, we request you do not wear your Volunteer Credential and pin. You are a representative of the American Family Insurance Championship and any inappropriate behavior will be cause for removal from the tournament and suspension of further volunteer duties.

Individuals are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-dose vaccine or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine. Unvaccinated individuals should wear facial coverings in all indoor locations, including pro shop and clubhouse, and are strongly encouraged to wear them outdoors when they cannot be physically distant from others.
