Clients will ultimately enjoy a luxury 3 destination trip to South
Africa and will be based on a tailored itinerary to ensure ease of
travel with as little possible disruption when changing hotels. For
this reason the following destinations are included.
• 4 nights at Fancourt in the Garden Route
• 5 nights in Cape Town
• 3 nights on a private safari in the Kruger Park area
The 4 nights at Fancourt in the beginning of the trip allows for most
of the golf to be played. Golf is included in the costs but guests are
under no pressure to play all rounds. We will make sure that the trip
will appeal to both golfers and non golfers and therefore the amount
of rounds played will be discussed with each client on confirming
their booking.
5 nights are spent in Cape Town to allow for another two rounds of
golf as well as some free time for shopping. The detailed itinerary
will also include private tours to the Cape of Good Hope nature
reserve as well as private wine tours and tastings.
3 nights are spent on safari with 2 game activities daily. This will be
the highlight of the tour that will bring you close and personal to the
Big 5 game of Africa.
The trip will ensure an African experience that you will never forget.

The Garden Route The Garden Route is a beautiful destination to visit. Stretching from Mossel Bay to Storms River and encompassing the towns of Knysna, Oudtshoorn, George, Plettenberg Bay, Sedgefield and Wilderness – this is a coastal wonder land with many fantastic things to see and do. It is called the Garden Route because of the spectacular flora and fauna that surrounds the coast line. There are many interesting things to do on the Garden Route including whale watching, cave exploration, elephant interactions, game drives, mountain passes, beaches, great restaurants and of course excellent golf at Fancourt, Pezula, Oubaai, Simola and Pinnacle Point. In this region, with it’s diverse offering of activities, there is something for everyone. Some activities on the Garden Route include a visit the “Ostrich Capital” in the town of Oudtshoorn, followed by an excursion to the world famous Cango Caves, visit to the Oyster Factory, a private cruise on the Knysna Lagoon
Cape Town Mother Nature surpassed herself when crafting the Mother City. Perched between the ocean and the mountain, with a national park at its heart, there is nowhere like Cape Town. Affectionately referred to as The Mother City, Cape Town is the oldest city in South Africa and has a cultural heritage spanning more than 300 years. It is in Cape Town that the Rainbow Nation really covers the spectrum. Between beautiful Cape Dutch homesteads, traditional dancers with painted faces performing in the streets, the smell of spicy Malay cooking and the taste of a well-made wine, this city will fill your senses. Cape Town boasts the top tourism attractions in South Africa, all of which should appear on every visitors itinerary all year round, namely Table Mountain, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Robben Island, The penguins at Boulders Beach, Cape Point – The Cape of Good Hope, Cape Town, with its many diverse cultures, natural wonders, and breathtaking beauty is a master at capturing peoples hearts.
The Stellenbosch and Franschhoek Winelands The fertile green valleys of the Cape Winelands, origin of some of the world's most popular wines, is a must see experience in close proximity to Cape Town. Wine tasting, winemaking tours, excellent cuisine and historical landmarks collectively create an irresistible attraction in a region which boasts some of the most majestic scenery in South Africa. Most Cape wine estates are characterised by classic Cape Dutch-style buildings and vast vineyards with picturesque mountains as a backdrop. There is also a distinct European influence in a number of regions, thanks to the arrival of French Huguenot, Dutch and German settlers during the 16th century. You will have the opportunity to visit some of the best wine estates and some of the oldest vineyards in the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek area. Indulge on award winning food and wines during your visit to this unique part of the Cape winelands.
Big 5 Safari experience Rise at sunrise to head into the wild on your private African safari with your Field Guide and Tracker and discover a world usually only reserved for your screen during ‘Animal Planet’. You’ll find yourself in an environment that is as old as time, where the rhythm of nature is the only Governor. 2 safaris take place each day – in the morning and late afternoon (moving into the early evening). This is when the wildlife is most active, and the temperature more moderate. Walking Safari - The bush takes on a completely different perspective when you are on foot. Each of your senses will be on full alert as you feel the grass and stones beneath your feet; touch the leathery leaves of trees you walk beneath; smell the musky scent of wild animals in the vicinity; taste the sweet grass of the veld; and hear the crack of a branch indicating you are not alone. Walks generally take place after breakfast and last approximately 1½ to 2 hours, depending on the fitness level of guests. In summer, due to the heat, walks may be incorporated into the morning game drive before heading back to the lodge for breakfast.
The Victoria Falls Words frequently fail to capture the grandeur of Victoria Falls, but if you were to look for an apt description, you probably wouldn’t find better than its Kololo name ‘Mosi-oa- Tunya’, which roughly translates to ‘the smoke that thunders’. Spanning nearly two kilometres and dropping about 108 metres, this UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site is the largest waterfall in the world—thanks to the sheer volume of water cascading over its crags every minute. Situated almost halfway along the Zambezi River and straddling two countries (Zimbabwe and Zambia), Victoria Falls and its surrounds offers travellers an absolutely breath-taking experience.

Lukimbi Safari Lodge Lukimbi Safari Lodge is situated in the game rich, southern section of the world renowned Kruger National Park. The Links - Fancourt The Links at Fancourt is without doubt the most impressive piece of golf design and construction ever in South Africa. Fancourt owner Dr Hasso Plattner, who took a very hands-on function in the creation, commissioned a golf course, which would not only be a thorough test for every golfer, but would also rank among the top courses in the world. Gary Player’s design team spent months studying the classic links courses of Scotland and Ireland and then, armed with inspiration from the best that those countries had to offer, embarked on the ambitious task of recreating some of their finest holes to make a genuine links test on what was once an airfield. Golf Digest USA recently ranked The Links, the 34’th best Golf course in the world.
Montagu Golf Course - Fancourt The Fancourt Golf Resort was recently ranked in the top 10 Golf Resorts in the world, and is the only Golf Resort in South Africa with 3 breathtaking Golf courses, all originally designed by Gary Player. The Montagu course is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. Play is restricted to members, their guests and hotel guests, so there is ample time and space to savour the Fancourt golfing experience. It is, however, always a good idea to book in advance to ensure that you get your desired tee time. Fancourt also boasts a world class Golf Academy, with outstanding practise and warm-up facilities.
Pinnacle Point Golf Course The Pinnacle Point Golf Course is something truly unique for the discerning golfer. This 18 hole championship golf course was designed by well-known South African golf course architect Peter Matkovich who opened the course together with top Irish Tour Professional Darren Clarke in November 2006. Darren Clarke, who was also involved with many aspects of the Pinnacle Point course design, has said that Pinnacle Point is “... the best golf course on the planet.” This Cliff top Fynbos Golf Course inspires the golfer to play this challenging layout with a level of respect due to its dramatic views and breath-taking terrain. The 72 par layout is characterised by 7 majestic holes that line the Indian Ocean rock cliffs, four of which are played over ocean and cliff.
Erinvale Golf Club Erinvale Golf Club, nestled at the foothills of the Helderberg and Hottentot Holland mountains in Somerset West near Cape Town is one of South Africa’s great golfing challenges. Situated in a beautiful Western Cape wine region, the breathtaking mountain and sea views are an integral part of this unforgettable golfing experience. The Gary Player-designed golf course was host to the 1996 World Cup of Golf and has hosted two South African Open Championships.
Pearl Valley Golf Estate The Pearl Valley Golf Estate is surrounded by the Simonsberg and Drakenstein Mountains and bordered by vineyards with The Berg River water hazard running through it. Pearl Valley is the latest South African addition to Jack Nicklaus’s repertoire of signature-designed courses worldwide. Nicklaus has stayed true to his design principles by working closely with nature and has provided a golf course that fits in with the environment. This fairly flat and largely uninterrupted terrain has brought freedom to develop hole strategies, making this a golf course the golfer has to think his/her way around. In its design and planning detail, the course is very unique.
What to pack for your Safari
Many of you will remember the scenes from Out of Africa when Karen Blixen went on Safari with everything
including the kitchen sink and the gramophone! Luckily for us the lodges are so well equipped you can leave
your hairdryer at home, rest assured that they will have one there for you.
Clothing – Jackets, Hats, Shoes
Safaris are generally casual affairs, even at the Luxury Camps. There is no need to bring evening wear but you'll want to be warm and comfortable. Make sure all
your clothes are not too bright in colour - that includes white. Bring clothes that are loose fitting and comfortable, and which you don't mind getting dirty. It will be
chilly in the early morning when you start your game drive, so you'll need to layer up and bring a fleece.
• Hats and caps - Broad brimmed hat as well as cap
• Boots and socks for game drives and game walks - Many of the safari lodges include Bush Walks as part of your game drive activities. Leave the Jimmy
Choo's at home! Sandals or open footwear to wear around camp during the day
• A small back pack or rucksack for game walks.
• A light jacket or windbreaker and a fleece top for game drives - Even during the summer the temperatures can drop significantly after sunset.
• Pale and natural coloured clothing so you blend in with the bush - Look the part and wear neutral colours. For walking safaris do not wear white or cream.
• A sarong and swimming costume – Lukimbi has a communal pool
• Dress Code - The lodges in Africa have a very relaxed dress code. There is no need to dress up for dinner. Sometimes its nice to freshen up before dinner – but
sometimes the game viewing is so good that time does not allow for it!
