01 PROGRAMS PROMOTING LEADER-DEVELOPMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT *indicates new initiative CV/RESUME WORKSHOP* 35/69 Collegiate Brothers Served & 7 Alpha Psi Alumni Peer Reviewed In preparation for residency applications, our wonderful Alumni, Dr. Logan Brodnansky and Dr. Michelle Ito, hosted a virtual CV review workshop for the 3rd year pharmacy students in October 2020. The workshop was also offered to other pharmacy and undergraduate Brothers. They had the Brothers work through identifying errors in example CVs, where they highlighted important sections that should be included and provided general tips when writing a CV. LEADERSHIP 101: LEADING AND MANAGING AS A NEW PIC- ALUMNI "Dr. Michael Connor hosted a discussion centered around the challenges and solutions for managing a team and motivating employees. Becoming a great Pharmacist-in-Charge requires an understanding of vision/values, self-management, developing others, and making tough choices. Managing as a PIC also requires knowledge of laws and regulations, policies and procedures, protocols, and assessments of employee performance, coaching, and conflict management. It was a successful webinar that expressed how to sustainably manage and lead your team as a PIC." - Dr. Kristen Ward ALPHA PSI EDUCATION, SCHOLARSHIP, & Collective Response from Candidate Class for one individual: LEADERSHIP FOUNDATION - CANDIDATES 15/17 Candidates Served The Chapter held a leadership workshop in March 2020 on how to be successful in personal and team leadership to prepare the candidates on the necessary teamwork and leadership skills needed for the candidacy period. Two Alumni Brothers, Dr. Logan Brodnansky and Dr. Gabby Reyes, led this year’s workshop. They incorporated exercises that focused on different types of leaders, how to effectively work towards a common goal, and steps to avoid or deal with conflict. In addition, they tried something new by having a reflection on individual strengths within the candidate class. For Candidates Spring 2020 CANDIDACY LEADERSHIP POSITIONS PRESIDENT TREASURER 4/17 Candidates Served Candidacy Leadership positions are voted upon at the beginning of the candidacy period in February 2020 to provide an opportunity of leadership and responsibility to 4 ambitious candidates.These positions include class president, treasurer, historian, and videographer. The president was the main liaison between the candidates and the Kenneth Ouyang Cynthia Trinh Brothers. The treasurer was responsible for keeping finances in check and dividing the First-Year Pharmacy 2020 Worthy Alumni Liaison First-Year Pharmacy 2020 Worthy Keeper of Finance cost amongst all candidates. The historian was responsible for documenting the HISTORIAN VIDEOGRAPHER candidacy period. The videographer was responsible for creating the candidate class video from the historian’s documentations. As these positions are a direct reflection of the actual executive board positions, candidates were able to obtain vital experience and possibly pursue those positions with the upcoming election period after candidacy. For example, Brothers Cynthia Trinh (Class Treasurer; P1) and Patrick Delgado (Class Historian; Freshman) were elected as Worthy Keeper of Finance and Public Relations Patrick Delgado Jade Bautista Chair, respectively. 02 PROGRAMS PROMOTING LEADER-DEVELOPMENT AND ACHIEVEMENT EXECUTIVE BOARD UNDERGRADUATE LEADERSHIP RETREAT LEADERSHIP PANEL 15/15 Brothers Served 15/17 Undergraduate Brothers Served 24 Prospective Brothers Before the new school year started, on On October 29th, 2020, the Alpha Psi Brothers August 23rd, 2020, the Alpha Psi opened up the 5th Annual Undergraduate Executive Board officers held the Annual Leadership Panel virtually on Zoom. After the discussions, the Brothers regrouped as a Chapter to allow an opportunity for them to contribute their ideas and hear what others have to offer.
