Amen IV. LITURGY OF THE WORD First Reading: Isaiah 42: 1-9 Jeanne Garcia “Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations. He will not cry out nor raise His voice, Nor make His voice heard in the street. A bent reed He will not break off And a dimly burning wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice. He will not be disheartened or crushed Until He has established justice on the earth; And the coastlands will wait expectantly for His law.” This is what God the Lord says, Who created the heavens and stretched them out, Who spread out the earth and its offspring, Who gives breath to the people on it And spirit to those who walk in it:
7 “I am the Lord, I have called You in righteousness, I will also hold You by the hand and watch over You, And I will appoint You as a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations, To open blind eyes, To bring out prisoners from the dungeon And those who dwell in darkness from the prison. I am the Lord, that is My name; I will not give My glory to another, Nor My praise to idols. Behold, the former things have come to pass, Now I declare new things; Before they sprout I proclaim them to you.” Palabra de Dios ALL: Te alabamos, Señor.
8 Gospel Acclamation/Alleluia: God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that every- one who believes in him may have eternal life. Gospel: Tony Murray A Reading from the holy Gospel according to John ALL: Glory to you o Lord John 10: 11-18 “I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hired hand, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters the flock. He flees because he is a hired hand and does not care about the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know My own, and My own know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will listen to My voice; and they will become one flock, with one shepherd. For this reason, the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it back. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it back. This commandment I received from My Father.” Deacon: The Gospel of the Lord All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ Homily: Bishop Jerome Feudjio Credo: I believe in one God... Prayers of the Faithful: Deacon David Capriola
