TheFirstKingdom Call Sunday after Epiphany The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel. Mark 1:15 Worship Service Guide January 10, 2021 10 AM
Welcome to All Saints Church! We are thankful you are here this morning! If you’re visiting with us, we hope that you feel welcome. If you are attending in person this morning, please remain within your family’s zone to ensure the safety and protection of those around you. We will be avoiding any physical contact during the service. During the passing of the peace, and at the end of the service, please remain in your zones and continue to maintain social distancing protocols. All Saints Church’s worship includes a formal liturgy. Liturgy (literally meaning “the work of the people”) is the structured way in which God’s people worship Him. What that means is that at some points in the service we’ll take time to be quiet and pray, at other times we’ll respond together with song or Scripture, and still, at other times, we’ll take in the spoken Word of God. Our liturgy is shaped by the same storyline of Scripture. We were created in the image of God, to re ect His love. We have corrupted love by living for ourselves instead of living for God and we deserve God’s judgment. God demonstrates his gracious love for us by redeeming sinners through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. We anticipate our nal home and kingdom where God’s love will be fully expressed and experienced. We give thanks to God who spared from the loveless place of hell and given us the joyous place of eternal life with Him. We ask that you participate in whatever manner comfortable for you. Sometimes people may raise their hands in praise during worship, others might close their eyes, others may appear more solemn. We would also encourage you to bring your own natural speaking voice and expressive style to the mix as we recite Scripture, sing and respond together. It’s a picture of the variety in which God created us. If you are with us via webinar, should you have any di culties with the connection or sound, please don’t hesitate to let us know so that we can improve the streaming experience. We are thankful to have you here with us. May the LORD bless you richly today in worship together of the God of love. fl fi ffi

We Turn Once Again To Him Please be seated. Confession of Sin Psalm 139:1-4, 23-24 We gather today in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether. Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting! {Take a moment silently to ask God to search your heart to reveal any terrible ways within you, any ways you have loved the world instead of Him.} 4

When he commits iniquity, I will discipline him with the rod of men, with the stripes of the sons of men, 15 but my steadfast love will not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me. New Testament Scripture Mark 1: 14-20 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “ e time is ful lled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” 16 Passing alongside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net into the sea, for they were shermen. 17 And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become shers of men.” 18 And immediately they left their nets and followed him. 19 And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boat mending the nets. 20 And immediately he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants and followed him. Silent Prayer for ose Not Communing Prayer for ose Searching for Truth Lord Jesus, you claim to be the way, the truth, and the life. Grant that I might be unafraid by the cost of following you as I consider the reasons for doing so. If what you claim is true, please guide me, teach me, and open to me the reality of who you are. Give me an unde standing of you that is clear, convincing, and that leads to the life that you promise. Amen. Prayer of Belief Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared admit, but through you I am more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank you for paying my debt on the cross, taking what I deserved in order to o er me complete forgiveness. Knowing that you have been raised from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Amen. Prayer for ose Overcome by Sin Lord Jesus, grant that I may see in you the ful llment of all my need, and may turn from every false satisfaction to feed on you, the true and living bread. Prayer for Covenant Children Lord Jesus, thank you for placing me inside your family, the church. Help me more and more to know you, to love you, and to follow you as your faithful disciple. Amen.
