Linda will guide you through, in step-by-step detail, the creation of a spiral weave basket. All the techniques used in this basketry workshop form the basis for making any round basket, and should inspire confidence in making baskets on a round reed base. Soft Pastels are a wonderful, practical way of understanding colours and how they work together to create effects. In the class sessions we will learn about: colour theory and what complementary, tint, monochromatic, tone, shade, analogous and other terms mean in a practical sense. We will also learn: pointillist styles, blending colours, smudging and use of the paper’s textures to enhance your work before finally fixing the pastel and optimising the composition by using coloured mats and framing to present your work.
