      Chongming Island in Shanghai is the third largest island in China. As the largest alluvial island at the
estuary of a river and the largest sand island in the world, Chongming Island is also acclaimed as the "Door
to the Yangtze River, Yingzhou Island (a celestial mountain in fairy tales of ancient China) in the East China
Sea." The main attractions on Chongming Island are the Chongming Academy (one of the only ancient
Confucian academies in Shanghai); Dongping National Forest Park (largest man-made forest in Eastern
China); Dong Tan Migratory Bird Protection Area; and Jin'ao Mountain (a Buddhist site with
East-China-garden-style landscaping).
      Taking place in the western portion of Chongming Island, IRONMAN 70.3 Shanghai Chongming race
will begin with a 1.2-mile (1.9-km) swim in freshwater Mingzhu Lake. The swim will be a single-loop rolling
start format with expected water temperature to be mid-60 degrees Fahrenheit. Athletes will then embark
on a generally flat two-loop 56-mile (90-km) bike course that finishes at Mingzhu Lake Park. Finally,
athletes will take on a three-loop 13.1-mile (21-km) run course circling the lake in Mingzhu Lake Park that
features plenty of shade. The swim-to-bike and bike-to-run transitions are both lakeside in Mingzhu Lake
Park, with the finish line located near the entrance to the park.
      The 2018 IRONMAN 70.3 Shanghai will have 25 qualifying slots for the 2019 IRONMAN World
Championship and 50 qualifying slots for the 2019 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship available.
      Eligible athletes receiving a slot can either accept a slot to the IRONMAN World Championship or a
slot to the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship (but not both).

Nanjing Road: Nanjing Road is the main shopping street of Shanghai, China,
and is one of the world's busiest shopping streets. Today's Nanjing Road
comprises two sections, Nanjing Road East and Nanjing Road West. In some
contexts, "Nanjing Road" refers only to what was pre-1945 Nanjing Road,
today's Nanjing Road East, which is largely pedestrianised. Before the
adoption of the pinyin romanisation in the 1950s, its name was rendered
as Nanking Road in English.

The Bund: The Bund or Waitan is a waterfront area in central Shanghai. The
area along the river faces the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the Pudong
District. The Bund usually refers to the buildings and wharves on this section
of the road, as well as some adjacent areas. It is one of the most famous
tourist destinations in Shanghai.

Tianzifang: Tianzifang or Tianzi Fang is a touristic arts and crafts enclave that
has developed from a renovated traditional residential area in the French
Concession area of Shanghai, China. It is now home to boutique shops, bars
and restaurants.

Shanghai Word Financial Center: The Shanghai World Financial
Center (SWFC) is a supertall skyscraper located in the Pudong district
of Shanghai, China. It was designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by
the Mori Building Company, with Leslie E. Robertson Associates as its
structural engineer and China State Construction Engineering Corp and
Shanghai Construction (Group) General Co. as its main contractor. It is a
mixed-use skyscraper, consisting of offices, hotels, conference rooms,
observation decks, and ground-floor shopping malls.

Cruising on the Huangpu River: Tourists could enjoy the view of supertall skyscraper, Monument to the people’s heroes,
Garden Bridge of Shanghai, Huangpu park, The Oriental Pearl TV Tower, Jinmao Tower and The Shanghai World Financial Center
alone the eastern bank of Huangpu river. You can also see the Wu Songgu’s artillery site fortifications’ site along the riverside.
After passing the Yangpu Bridge and Nanpu Bridge, you will see the estuary of the Huangpu River.
