ISM International community ISM University of Management and Economics is becoming more and more international each year attracting students from all over the world. Exchange & dual degree students Welcome week It takes place a week before the beginning of each semester and it helps you to settle into University life. Participation is mandatory. Our programme events will introduce you to your buddies, international coordinators, academic advisors and student life. With the help of Erasmus Student Network and your buddies, your transition will be easy and fun, and definitely unforgettable. Regularly check your email. You will receive Welcome week programme and other important information 2 - 3 weeks prior the event takes place. 10 11

Academic Information INFORMATION FOR MASTER EXCHANGE STUDENTS: All master courses are intensive courses with the exams held right after each course, therefore there is no regular exam session for master students. INFORMATION FOR BACHELOR EXCHANGE STUDENTS: Bachelor exchange students have the exam session arranged Some of the master courses start only in January. REGISTRATION TO COURSES Students are registered to courses by ISM international studies coordinators. All the courses have quotas for international students therefore students are registered on the first come first serve basis - the quicker student sends the Learning Agreement, the better are the chances to get the seat in the preferred course. If the preferred course is full, the student receives an e-mail stating the cancellation of the Learning Agreement, therefore student have to choose different courses and upload updated Learning Agreement to online application system. CHANGING YOUR COURSES After the timetable is sent to you, you shall be able to see whether the courses you have chosen overlap with one another, or not. In case it does, you may need to change some of your courses. You will have first two weeks to change your courses. Please note that you can only change courses with an important reason, like overlappings in the timetable or specific academic requirements of your home university. STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS Students with disabilities are advised to contact their coordinator at International Office of ISM to discuss their need for support as soon as possible. If you are coming under the Erasmus exchange programme you are encouraged to seek extra scholarships at your home university to cover any costs related to your special needs. 16 17

Academic Information LITHUANIAN LANGUAGE CLASSES International full time students are offered Lithuanian language classes free of charge. If you would like to join, ask your study manager for more information. TIMETABLES Check your ISM e-mail account one week before the 1st of MIGRATION / VISA INFORMATION September to find information about the timetables and academic information. Nationals of non-EU/EEA countries need an entry visa or residence permit for entering Lithuania. One also may be able to enter Lithuania without visa. Professional career after your studies at ISM Students holding EU citizenship can work part time job in Lithuania without any restrictions. Non-EU citizens are requested to get work permit which are issued by Lithuanian Labour Exchange office (www.ldb.lt) under the request of the employer. According to the law, graduates can stay for another 6 months after the graduation to search for a job or other study/business/ volunteering opportunities in Lithuania. 26 27
Student ERASMUS STUDENT NETWORK ESN ISM ESN ISM is a part of Erasmus Student Network, which is the biggest unions student organization in Europe. ESN ISM aims to help exchange students to integrate in Lithuania, introduce them to the culture and history, organizes various events & clubs and trips. ESN ISM also provides international students with Buddies - Lithuanian students who are always ready to help. International full time students may also become buddies for international exchange students and help them integrate into the daily life and ISM community. Sports at ISM ISM GOLF CLUB The only university golf club in Lithuania. Members are motivated ISM students, who are united by golf. They train at the European Centre Golf Club, attend golf tournaments, spread the word about ISM university and golf. ISM BASKETBALL TEAM Every year ISM Basketball team is competing in two leagues: Lithuanian Students’ and Vilnius City “Sostinės” Basketball Leagues. They are friendly, active and connect all students - from first Bachelor year to the last year of Master. ISM UNIVERSITY ROWING CLUB It is an opportunity for everyone at ISM to try and learn an Olympic sport – academic rowing. The club has an experienced coach who trains and prepares members for tournaments. Also, every member gets unlimited access to the gym! 32 33
