Application Checklist Once all of the items below have been received by the International Programs office at Ohlone College your application is complete. If you are admissible, you will be provided with an Acceptance Packet. COMPLETE THESE ITEMS: International Student Application Financial Affidavit You and your financial supporter(s) must complete and sign this form. (Included in this application) Credit Card Payment Form This is for payment of the $100 application fee SUPPLY THESE ITEMS: Bank Documents An official bank statement or bank letter, from the student or student’s financial sponsor, demonstrating the required funds (see amount on Financial Affidavit). High School and/or University Certificate of completion, transcripts, or equivalent academic documents Copy of biographical page in Passport (page with your name) Proof of English Language Proficiency Copy of Duolingo, TOEFL or IELTS Score Report (original is not required) • TOEFL: Minimum 57 score on the Internet-based Test. The Ohlone College ETS code is 4579 • IELTS: Minimum 5.5 score • Duolingo: Minimum 95 score Alternative ways to show proof of English proficiency can be found here: www.ohlone.edu/international/englishrequirements OR Apply for the Ohlone College English Language Institute (ELI) and receive Conditional Admittance to your degree program of study. No English Proficiency score required! For more information visit: www.ohlone.edu/international/eli For Transfer Applicants ONLY: If you currently hold an F-1 Visa/I-20 at another school in the U.S. you are considered a Transfer Applicant. In addition to all of the items above, please also submit the following items: (1) A copy of your current Form I-20; (2) a copy of your Visa; and (3) a print out of your I-94 information (4) If you already earned a degree in U.S., provide a statement of why you want to attend Ohlone and what your education goals are. *NOTE: For the occasional applicant who will be under 18 years of age when they begin their studies, please email us at international@ohlone.edu for additional documents. FINANCIAL AFFIDAVIT International students are required to provide documentation of financial support before a Form I-20 can be issued to them by Ohlone College. Documentation of financial support includes 2 items: 1) this completed Financial Affidavit form; and 2) Bank Documents. Please submit BOTH of these items as part of your application. SELF-SUPPORTING STUDENTS: If the student will use his/her own, personal funds as the source of financial support, the student must provide an official bank statement showing the availability of at least $24,500 for Degree Studies or $30,300 for ELI Program. All finances must be in liquid assets. Student must complete the Statement of Financial Obligation below. STUDENTS SUPPORTED BY A FINANCIAL GUARANTOR: If someone else will financially support the student (examples: family member, friend, or private institution,) the Financial Guarantor must provide their official bank statement showing the availability of at least $24,500 for Degree Studies or $30,300 for ELI Program. All finances must be in liquid assets. Student and Financial Guarantor must complete the Statement of Financial Obligation below. OR Bring to the International office: Building 7, 2nd floor, Room 7217, Fremont Campus After sending your Application • The International Programs and Services office will review your submitted application documents. • After your application is complete, Ohlone College will issue you an Admission Letter, a Form I-20 and other acceptance materials. Allow up to 10 business days to process your application. o Transfer Applicants will receive a Transfer Letter instead of a Form I-20. • Acceptance materials will be supplied to you in the manner you requested in the application. • New students, who do not have an F-1 Student Visa will use the Form I-20 to apply for their Student Visa at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate nearest to their home. o Transfer Applicants will show the Transfer Letter to their current school, and request a Transfer of their Form I-20 (SEVIS record) to Ohlone College.
