The ordinance governing enrolment of candidates leading to Ph.D along with application form will be hosted on the RGUHS website from 26/02/2018. The eligible candidates have to download the application form online and the filled –in application form with prescribed fee (Online payment receipt) has to be submitted to RGUHS on or before to 21/03/2018. No application will be entrained after the last date. Entrance test will be held at the university on 8th April 2018. Details regarding Entrance test is also enclosed. ENROLMENT FOR Ph.D COURSES (Conduct of Entrance Test) 2018-19 Application for enrollment of Ph.D courses shall be invited once a year on the date notified by the University. A candidate may apply for admission to Ph.D through an Entrance Test conducted by the University. The prescribed application form is obtainable from the University website notification (www.rguhs.ac.in\Ph.D Programme). The application should be submitted by post or in person on or before the last date notified with payment of the prescribed fees through Online payment only. The Application received after the last date and not accompanied by the prescribed fees will be summarily rejected. 1) Candidates willing to register for PhD course under RGUHS shall appear for the entrance test conducted by the University in spite of having qualified UGC – NET(including JRF)/UGC-CSIR NET ( including JRF)/SLET/GATE/ Teacher fellowship holder or have passed M.Phil programme. 2) There will be One (1) Theory Paper of 100 marks and Duration of 3 hrs. 3) The syllabus of the entrance test shall consists of Research Methodology- 50 marks and subject specific - 50 marks. 4) The paper shall be preferably of Short notes type with the competence at the level of average UG/PG standard. 5) Students who score 50% and above are declared qualified. No Grace marks are awarded. 6) NOC from the concerned Ph.D Guide is mandatory and it is responsibility of the qualified candidate to submit the NOC along with the Pre Ph.D presentation document. 7) The results of the Ph.D entrance test shall be valid for the current year only and it cannot be used for the admissions during subsequent year. 8) The Qualified candidates shall persue the Research including Interdisciplinary Research in the areas of expertise relevant to their Qualification. After qualifying the entrance test the candidate along with the guide will write up a research project and submit it to the university in the prescribed format before the prescribed date (approximately 3 Months). Presentation of the Synopsis in the presence of PhD Registration Committee along with the guide will take place in the next one month after submission of the synopsis. The presence of both Candidate and Guide is mandatory for presentation.

Introduction:- Ph.D Entrance Test-2018 is being conducted for the purpose of determining the eligibility for admission of students to Medical /Dental/Pharmacy and AYUSH faculties for the academic year 2018-19. Ph.D Entrance Test-2018 is being conducted for admission to various Ph.D Courses 2. Eligibility:- A candidate who fulfill the following criteria shall be eligible to appear for the Entrance Test, namely :- (i) He is a citizen of India; (ii) He has studied and passed in the courses leading to the award of PG degree in respective branches recognized by respective councils and Government of India and affiliated to any University established by Law
(iii) Minimum qualification for admission to Ph.D courses.- the candidate should completed his/her post graduate degree in respective branch are eligible for that branch/subject only 3. Application Form:- “Last date for receipt of application filled is 21/03/2018, before 5-00 P.M. by Post or In-person” Applications are liable for rejection; A. If Incomplete, B. If Photograph not uploaded, C. If photographs are found mismatched in the application, D. If photographs are not recent one and not attested by an Gazette Officer, E. If the applicant not signed in the application. How to submit: i) By Post or In-person: Print out of application filled online, along with attested copies of all required certificates may be sent by post or In-person for registration to “The Registrar, RGUHS, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore – 560 041” by 24/03/2018, before 5.00 PM. Candidates should super scribe on the cover as “Application for Ph.D Entrance Test-2018”. Please note that the candidate will not become eligible for attending the entrance test only by online registration. The candidate must ensure that print out of his/her application with all enclosures mentioned in the brochure reaches the RGUHS. The University does not hold the responsibility for loss or delay in postal delivery. 4. Registration Fee:- Mode of Payment:- Candidates are hereby informed that payment SHOULD be made through ONLINE PAYMENT. Ph.D entrance exam fees Rs. 3,000/- Note: Registration fee is not refundable under any circumstances. 4. (c) Syllabus:- The entrance exam is conducted in two parts namely 1. Principles of basic Research methodology 2. specialty paper The specialty paper Syllabus content shall ordinarily be equal to the syllabus and books prescribed for Post-Graduate Course for that subject as per Regulations of Central Council and/ or the Rajiv Gandhi Universities of Health Sciences. The Principles of basic Research methodology syllabus is as follows 1. Research Methodology: An Introduction 2. Defining the Research Problem 3. Research Design 4. Sampling Design 5. Measurement and Scaling Techniques 6. Methods of Data Collection 7. Processing, statistics and Analysis of Data 8. Sampling Fundamentals 9. Interpretation and Report Writing 10. Principle and methods of fundamental research method, literature drug and research problem survey, clinical research 11. Writing ad article for a scientific journals 12. Introduction to specific research instruments 13. Bioavialbility 14. Bioequivalence 15. Clinical trails. (2) Duration, Nature of Question Paper and Answer Sheet:- there is a separate examinations for specialty paper and basic paper compromises 50 marks each. The question paper comprising of 15 questions of 2 marks with two choice and 04 question of 5 marks with one choice. Duration of examination Time is three hours and separate answer booklets are issued for each paper. 5. Penalty for false and incorrect statements:- Where an applicant has furnished any false and incorrect statement in the application or where the affidavit filed by him or the certificate furnished by him contains any false or incorrect statement, the application shall be liable for rejection and his selection for admission to the Ph.D course shall be cancelled after providing a reasonable opportunity to explain by the Entrance Test Committee. 6. Malpractice: Any candidate indulging in mal-practice in any sort shall be viewed seriously and punished and also is liable for criminal proceedings. The committee can make guidelines in this regard. 7. Instructions to Candidates: The candidates shall be present at the centre 30 minutes before the commencement of the test. Only the candidates who possess the Hall Ticket shall be allowed to appear for the Entrance Test. In case of loss of Hall Ticket, the candidates should contact the Chief Superintendent of the centre one hour earlier for assistance.
No Candidate shall copy from the paper of any other candidate or permit his / her own papers to be copied or attempt to give or seek any illegal assistance. No candidate will be admitted to the examination hall after the commencement of the Entrance Test. No candidate will be allowed to leave the examination hall before the end of the first thirty minutes. Candidates leaving the hall prior to the end of the Entrance Test will have to hand over the question paper to room invigilator and collect the same at the end of the test. Candidate should sign the attendance sheet as per the instructions of the invigilator. Silence must be observed in the examination hall. Any candidate found guilty of disorderly or improper conduct will be liable for expulsion from the examination hall and will be debarred from the Entrance test by the Chief Superintendent of the centre. Candidates are not permitted to carry any electronic gadgets like Pager, Cell Phone, Blue tooth etc., into the examination hall. Sd/- REGISTRAR
