raphy and film from VCU. He was a consultant on the Discovery Channel series Ancient Origins of Native Americans. He
has exhibited his own photographs for over 30 years, including the recent exhibition LANDMARKS at the 1708 Satellite
Gallery, Richmond, VA. He currently serves on the boards of the Virginia Poverty Law Center and the Virginia Children’s
Book Festival and the Virginia Association of Museums Governing Council. He currently teaches Advanced Photography

es, and she is writing two books on the subject. She currently holds positions of Trustee ad Project Curator of the Carriage
Foundation.

Stephan Broeckx: a late recruit to driving, started nearly twenty years ago and was bitten by the antique-carriage bug. He
publishes articles on traditional driving and carriage history in magazines in France, Italy, Belgium, The Netherlands, the
United Kingdom, and the United States. He drives in Provence on the tracks of the Crau. He is a retired businessman and
was instrumental in bringing together the editors of the contemporary European driving magazines.

Dr. Mario Doberl: studied history and art history at the University of Vienna (Austria), as well as Università degli Studi in
Cagliari. His thesis was about the kingdom of Sardinia under the Austrian Hapsburgs. He received his doctorate from the
University of Vienna in 2004, and wrote his dissertation on “The Emperors’ Carriages, a History of carriage-building at the
Viennese court during the 18th and 19th century.” He is a member of the staff at Vienna’s famed Kunsthistorische Museum,
and has participated in several research projects involving the carriages in the Wagenburg at Schönbrunn Palace, as well as

smith, and ran the Wood Studio for Oregon College of Art and Craft. But his real passion was ignited when he worked
in the inner city at an after-school program for at-risk youth. There he discovered how much he loved teaching kids who
needed the hands-on skills of a trade. It was this passion that pushed him to open Anvil Academy in Newberg, Oregon, in
2015.

William H. Neel: holds an AB in Architecture from Stanford University and attended Graduate School at the Univer-
sity of Oregon. He is a licensed architect by exam, and is licensed in Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona. He is

tion of America (CAA) in 1968. Rider has personally restored about sixty carriages including preparation, repair, painting,
